While driving on road trip from Salt lake city to Portland, we stopped by to this cute little authentic Nepali restaurant. This place is so good and the owner is so nice! The yak momo (dumplings) and the lamb chao chao are my favorite. They also have different types of naan bread and their coconut naan has to be the best one.

This is my new go-to spot in Boise, not just for Himalayan/Nepalese, but also for amazing North Indian curries. Our first time in the place, we had the proprietor order for us. We were given a huge assortment of Chicken Momos, Lamb Noodles, Veggie Korma, Butter Chicken, Chicken Vindaloo, Chicken Tikka Masala, and some delicious naan. Very nice discovery of asian/tibetan type cuisine. The food here is tasty, I've tried the lamb vindaloo, lamb chao chao, and the dumplings. Had to have the yak dumplings so I could get one more check mark on some esoteric "what foods have you ever eaten" list. Yak, check. (Yak tastes like a beef/chicken combo. 5 Stars for maintaining the ethnicity of Indian Food and Taste. Most of the restaurants have compromised the Indian Taste to cater to the larger public and never thought that it is better to be able to customise as per the requirements. I went to the restaurant and Rajesh has been very gracious to understand my requirement as to taste / spice level i wanted and he did a good job by giving me a true Indian taste on all three dishes I ordered. Small and informal, we got amazing dumplings with yak, veggies, and chicken. The noodles were amazing and fresh. The wait was about 40 minutes, but so worth it for home made Nepalese cuisine!

My wife and I tried this place for the first time today. It was very clean and well-kept. My wife said the bathroom was even clean! Maybe not as important to me but for her that’s pretty important. The food was amazing! we had lamb, yak dumplings, two types of curry and a bunch of flavored nan bread. The waiter was kind and helpful because we weren’t exactly sure what to order. Stopped here for lunch while in Boise for business. The food is outstanding! I had the butter chicken, vindaloo, and marsala. Each was very tender and had distinct, delicious flavors. Delicious flavors and dishes! Only reason I didn't rate it 5 stars was because we had to wait over 1 hour for food at dinner on a slower night. As long as you are prepared to take your time, the slower pace shouldn't be an issue. Very friendly owner and staff. Will definitely visit again! More...

Absolutely the Most delicious food experience I've had in Boise in a while. We were greeted warmly by the owner Raj and since it was our first time there he gave us some suggestions on what/how to order. We had garlic Naan, Samosas (a Definite must), chicken Momos which are a bit like pot stickers that are freshly hand made, and a sampling of the three different variations of chicken curry arranged by spiciness which was accompanied by lovely aromatic Jasmine rice. I also ordered the Palak Paneer which is one of my favorite Indian dishes to order. It was by far the best I've ever had.They even have Yak and goat on the menu which would be interesting to try. I went to Mount Everest Momo Cafe yesterday.  I had the yak meat momo dumplings and the lamb chau chau (stir fried noodles).  I found the food to be good.  I have been to Nepal before, when it had a monarchy.  The style of food is Nepali.    About the only things that I would recommend are:1) Get rid of the tacky Chinese Zodiac Calendars from the tables.  This makes you look like a cheap Chinese restaurant, and you are not.  If you want to replace it with something, find something that exudes the grace and beauty of Nepal or Tibet (like the "old" Nepali monarchy, or the natural beauty of Pokhara and Annapurna).  2) Figure out a way to market yourself better as Nepali .  The way you have things, they can be easily confused with Indian.  3) Look at your menu, and perhaps try to denote what is uniquely Nepali, verses North Indian or Tibetan.  It may help to distinguish the differences on the menu.  This is about it.  I wish them well. I love this cafe. The food is amazing, the service is superb. My first visit I had the Lamb curry with the dumplings. I ordered it without comment on spice level and it was good. It brought me back to try more. But on the second visit I ordered Lamb Vindaloo and Lamb Chau Chau. I also ordered both 5 out of 5 on the spicy level. I knew I could get extra rice if needed and I like hot food. My meal was delightful! The two meals were so I could split with my husband because the portion size is good. We both enjoyed the flavorings, the spice level, and the service. My third visit I again ordered the Lamb Curry but this time level 5 on hotness. It was so very good. There is something special about the spices used in these dishes which comes out at a higher spice level which doesn't comeout when they are less spicy. But that said, it takes a while to build up the taste buds to accept a hot, spicy dish, so each to their own. The less spicy version was very good. This is a "Go To" cafe for me. This place has been on my new restaurants list forever and I'm glad I finally went. It's a cute and small hole-in-the-wall esque place. The (I'm assuming manager/owner) greeted me immediately and sat me down and asked if I had been there before.  I said no and he explained the menu to me which was nice.  After Finding out I didn't eat meat he definitely tried to show me all of the veggie options,  It was clear this guy was proud of his restaurant. You're not going to find any entrees under $10 here but the amount of food I got was good And everything I tried was tasty.  The only negative I have is that before I got my food I saw a little girl with a runny nose walk out and washed her hands in the sink next to the sodas which kind of made me lose my appetite a bit but I gained it back once I saw the food in front of me. Best Indian/Nepalese food I've ever eaten! I cannot say enough about the food. I'm not usually much of a curry lover, but the sweet mild Butter Chicken was just perfect for me. My husband said the Vindaloo chicken was delicious & the Nan bread was the best we've ever eaten. I had a fantastic experience here. My coworkers and I placed a rather massive and somewhat impromptu order for lunch. I called in before they were open and was pleased they were available so they could be somewhat prepared. I arrived a few minutes early to find the order was almost completely ready. The server (and I think one of the owners) had already labeled each to-go box with its contents and went through, box by box, to confirm that what I had ordered was present and correct.
