ABOUT US:
Anna Caro is the only interior designer in the Greater Nashville area that makes sustainability the first priority in her firm. With over a decade of experience in hospitality, Anna ensures that MOTIV Interiors provides exceptional customer service while specializing in incorporating sustainable design principles into every project. Her clients include professionals such as attorneys, accountants, and educational administrators, as well as local builders and many small business owners. They describe Anna as: creative, thorough, a great communicator, and very professional with an attention to detail and timeliness in completion.

MOTIV Interiors is a full-service design firm, offering a wide range of services from hourly consultation to custom furnishings and window treatments, procurement and installation, as well as full-scope project management. Anna works with the support of a strong team of local trades, contractors, workrooms, and artists whose expertise contribute to the success of each project. Anna is consistently building relationships with vendors and suppliers, offering local and regional sourcing as often as possible with a passion for finding sustainable options and creating custom design solutions tailored especially for each of her clients.

Anna grew up in the Rocky Mountains where she developed a deep connection to nature and fostered an awareness of the challenges and opportunities pertaining to environmental sustainability. She was inclined to design at a young age, and would make floor plans of “dream houses” (which always included a water slide). She loved rearranging her bedroom furniture in new ways and even painted a mural on her bedroom wall in high school.

After experimenting with a pre-pharmacy degree and later pursuing a career in the music industry, Anna returned to her passion for design and graduated from Watkins College of Art with a BFA in Interior Design with a Concentration in Sustainability (Summa Cum Laude). She received the distinguished Samuel Watkins Award for Academic Excellence for her graduating class.

Anna has been a member of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) and TWIG (Tennessee Women In Green) since 2015, and in 2019 she became a certified GreenLeader through the SFC (Sustainable Furnishings Council). She is also a Certified Feng Shui Practitioner and dedicates herself to continuing education in sustainability, product and material knowledge, and best business practices in the field of interior design.

Before founding MOTIV Interiors, Anna gained valuable experience in the field through working with Savvy Home Staging, JL Design, Marcelle Guilbeau Interior Design, and Connie Vernich Interiors. Anna has always loved writing; her blog, the MOTIV Monthly, aims to increase education and awareness of sustainable design while providing valuable insight into her design process and philosophy. She also enjoys volunteering every month to support her community and the environment.
