Q&As

First of all, I love getting to meet new people, but I also love getting to help my clients see their vision come to reality. I also love the challenge that each new project presents.

I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit. I remember being 3 or 4, digging up dirt from the yard, and sitting there trying to sell it to people driving by. Let's just say my first business was a failure. But many lemonade stands and puppet shows later, I have owned several successful business.

In the contracting industry, there are a lot of shady people, which is why building trust is so important. I love that I get the opportunity to stand out from the rest by simply doing the right thing and doing a great job.

In a few cases, I can provide an estimate over the phone but I don't recommend painting your home over zoom.

Services

Our process for painting the exterior of your home begins with applying TSP, an anti-fungal spray, where there is evidence of exterior mold and mildew. If not dealt with, it will grow right back over your new paint. We then use high-pressure power washers to remove all the residue, dust, and other debris to ensure a pristine surface. Next we prep the paintable surfaces by nailing down loose boards and scraping or sanding away flaking or blistering paint. Once that is done, we apply a primer to any exposed or bare wood to so that the new paint adheres.

Following that is probably one of the most important steps – caulking. Many companies will spot caulk, meaning they will only caulk areas that have already cracked or pulled apart. Since caulk is the only thing keeping water from penetrating every wood seam and joint, we believe the best approach is caulk and seal ALL seams, joints, and nail holes. As an added service, we also re-caulk around all of your windows to make sure they are as energy efficient as possible. At that point, we mask off brick and stone, as well as windows, landscaping, and light fixtures. The final preparation step is to wire brush door and window lintels and apply a specially formulated rust-inhibiting metal paint.

With our meticulous prep process complete, we apply high-quality, full-strength paint to your exterior surface. We match our painting technique to the surface of the home. Typically, we apply two coats of paint using a spray application. However, when the surface is uneven or porous, such as rough cedar or textured mortar, we back-roll by hand, a measure that applies an additional coat to ensure paint penetrates into the pores of the surface.

Once we’ve removed the masking and cleaned up the job site, we inspect and perform any touch-up needed before presenting you with our work.

Our final step is an inspection walk-through with the homeowner and a Morgan Exteriors representative. We’re not satisfied until we know that you are.

When it comes to excellence in interior painting, it’s all about the prep work. Our meticulous process ensures we achieve results that meet or exceed your expectations.

When our professional team arrives, they will start by moving all your furniture away from the walls and covering it to protect from dust and paint. We will thoroughly mask your floors to avoid paint drips or overs-pray that can be difficult, and in some cases impossible, to clean . When painting the walls, we remove all light switch and power outlet plates, Next we will fill all holes, patch cracks and other blemishes, as well as wipe away any debris and cobwebs from the walls . If painting trim, it will also be lightly sanded and cleaned for superior paint adhesion. We mask any walls, appliances, or other features as needed. Then and only then do we use the best and latest techniques to apply full-strength, high-quality paint. Finally we remove all the masking, clean up, and replace the furniture. We will do a final walk-through with you and perform any necessary final touch-ups. Once you’re completely satisfied, the job is complete. The only thing left will be to enjoy the look of a fresh and updated home!

For years, the only siding and trim options for your home in were either real wood, engineered wood, or vinyl. However, wood and engineered wood can be damaged over time by water, and vinyl just isn’t aesthetically pleasing to many homeowners. Now technology has advanced and there are currently more options for your home.

One of the most popular options to date is Hardie siding and trim, which is a concrete fiber board. Hardie board never rots, has great paint retention and comes in many different styles to suit the design of your home.

If you would like to know more about Hardie or any of the other options available, one of our knowledgeable experts can meet with you to understand your vision for the home and evaluate the best way to achieve it. We can then create a plan on how to get there.

Once all the details have been finalized, we will start by sourcing all the materials to make sure that – with the current supply chain issues – everything is available. Once we have located the materials, we will create the order and schedule one of our craftsmen for your project.

When installation day arrives, it’s time to get to work. This is where things begin to take shape and the vision starts to become reality! The installation process will vary based on the product being installed, but whether it is lap siding, 4×8 cedar textured panel, board and batten, etc, you can rest assured that it will be done correctly. We stay up to date and follow all manufacturer’s specifications including installing vapor barriers, flashings, installation methods and fastening requirements.

As the project comes to a close, a careful cleanup of the job site and our internal inspection takes place. Once we are confident the area is clean as well as safe, we will walk the project with you to be absolutely certain that you are happy with the final product. Your home will now be ready for exterior painting, the final design element of color!
