We have lived in Brandon Fl for five years and have always loved Moreno's cooked foods and they have been a go-to for desserts for special occasions. So it was an immediate choice for us to use them for our wedding at Casa Lantana. From setting up a meeting with Susan Moreno the owner herself to meet with us to go over our desired look and the tasting to the day of with the delivery, they were amazing. We decided to have a small cake just to cut for pictures and then have cupcakes surrounding it. We went with carrot cake for the cutting cake and the cupcake flavors were dulce de leche, a chocolate mudslide, and our absolute favorite guava cheesecake. They were a big hit and just so delicious! I appreciated the attention to detail Susan took into consideration asking us about our cake topper, the set up, the colors, the flowers, the table, and cupcake liners to make sure the whole dessert table was what we envisioned and it really was. Moreno is easily the best bakery in the Tampa area. This is one of the few restaurants in Florida about which I ever get excited (it's a VERY short list). Moreno is two miles east of I75 on Brandon Blvd, and during most days those two miles can take upwards of 20 minutes, but it's worth it.

Walk in and you'll see the awe inspiring baking racks in front of you. But wait, first go left to order a sandwich or anything from the hot prepared section for your food-food. Everything is excellent. They make the absolute best hot pressed pastrami I have ever had. Get it with jalapenos for some extra zip.

After you buy your food or place your sandwich order (the wait can be a bit), take a number over at the bakery and get a treat or two, or three, or a box full of baked goods. The almond sticks are my favorite, they're phenomenal. Everything else in the bakery is ALSO phenomenal. There isn't one thing they do here that isn't at least great.

Then sit down and enjoy. Or, if you're pressed for time because 60 SUCKS.... Take it back to work and make all your coworkers jealous. More...

Found this place when out running errands. I wanted a guava and cheese turnover so I searched Google and we were right there so we went. I was surprised when we went inside how big it was and it was a bakery and cafe. The food smelled amazing, but I was there for dessert. I got a guava cheese turnover(so delicious), a guava and cheese gooey butter cake(OMG), an eclair( ) and a cheese bread! I loved everything I got and can't wait to go back. I rarely give out a 5 star rating! We have lived here 13 years and some how never ventured into Moreno Bakery.

I come from a small town, that had our own small town bakery. We would skip school to go get donuts. To this day, when we visit up north, it is a must stop place, or the trip is not complete.

Moreno came in a close second, hard to compete with life long memories.

But seriously, this is the best I have ever had in the state of Florida.

Moreno Bakery did a great job on my wedding cake! We had a large heart shaped cheesecake as our bride/groom cake and then a bunch of mini cheesecakes for guests, all topped with blueberries as we got married at a venue that had a blueberry field next to it! A. Maz. Ing. We got a small cake to cut with about 7 dozen cupcakes for our cupcake tower, and everything was incredible. We had four flavors, and they were all delicious and beautiful . Our cake was all buttercream rosettes, hombre peach to ivory, and our cupcakes were decorated with different buttercream roses, chrysanthemums, and pansies in ivory, peach, and burgundy. They were so beautiful. Honestly, we meant to save the remainder of our cake to eat on our anniversary, but it didn't even last a month when we got it home, haha! We decided we'll just have to go to Moreno's and get another cake then. Oh no... ;)
The service was great, Susan was always quick getting back to us and was nothing but friendly, flexible, and helpful. Btw, the rest of the food at Moreno is great, too... my mom and I went the week of my wedding and got lunch there, and it was delicious.

I go to Moreno's all the time so their was no question about ordering our desserts from them as well for our wedding. I did have a day-of-coordinator therefore I didn't deal with them directly on my wedding day. However, the ordering and follow-up communication was very smooth. Nothing was out of place at all. When I showed up it was picture perfect. We had one two tiered cake (8" bottom and 6" top), a four fruit pie, a key lime pie, the strawberry shortcake cake, carrot cake and guava turnovers. Susan Moreno and her team are masters in what they do best. She spent quality time with me during the preparation of design and set-up for our wedding cake and table.

We ordered a 2-tier (square) cake with lemon cake and raspberry filling and buttercream frosting. I purchased artificial flowers which were placed elegantly around/on-top of the cake.

We also ordered pignoli cookies and guava pastry (cut in triangles) so our guests could sample a taste of Italy and Puerto Rico (both representing our heritage).

The cake was delivered and set-up beautifully at our reception and even 2 months after our wedding, our guests STILL remember the taste of our cake and the delicious side pastries.
