With out a doubt one of my favorite bakeries in town! Awesome experience, the new owners are very friendly with great ideas. I've ordered serveral cakes from them & they've seemed to amaze me with their work every time. I came to visit my family very last minute and decided to throw my daughter a first birthday party in Wichita, and Monica was the only cake store willing to do it so last minute and right before Christmas. All arrangements were made over the phone and the results were exactly as I imagined it! They did such a wonderful job and even let us get it 2 hours before we agreed to get it. I fell in love with Monica's Bundt Cake the first time I tried it. I decided to go with a traditional Wedding Cake and Bundt Runts. We received so many compliments about it. I have had the pleasure of doing business with Marcos and his wife since just after they first purchased the business just a few months ago. It has been exciting to see them bring Monica's Bundt Cakes back into an important business in the Douglas Design District. Monica did a smart thing building her business around Bundt®. There's a lot of types of cake that have a proper taste and texture - you're supposed to make it a certain way. Bundt® doesn't have that. In fact, Bundt® is a registered trademark of Nordic Ware and refers to the pan in which Bundt® cakes are cooked. Because there's no expectations, you can't really make any type of judgment on the technical proficiency of the resulting Bundt® cake aside from its inherent Bundt®-ness shape and the simple question of how good the Bundt® cake tastes. Personally, I find the Bundt® to be pretty good - moist, dense, and with a little tang from sour cream frosting - though even in mini-Bundt® form, the cake was a little too big for one serving. It didn't stop me from eating it in one serving, but I felt totes bad later in the day. The Bundt® cupcakes are a little better size, made with the same Bundt® batter, and with a slightly heavier frosting-to-cream ratio, if you're into that sort of thing. Plus, they have sprinkles and are usually a bit more adventurous in flavorings. Referring to the as cupcakes reinstates a little bit of that expectation, though, so when I took a bite of the cupcake, part of my brain was telling me that it was much too heavy for a cupcake, but I had to remember it was simply a Bundt® cake in cupcake form. Besides, Wichita missed most of the cupcake fad from a few years ago, so I'll take what I can get. The smartest thing Monica's could do was put her sweet Bundt® in Dillon's and local merchants like the neighboring Spice Merchant. It's where I got my samples, and it allows people to try a mouthful of Bundt® when they would otherwise be a little too intimidated to walk into the store and feel the mighty pull of the Bundt® imploring to be eaten. The cake was beautiful and exactly what we wanted. It was delicious and classic vanilla and choclate is the way to go! The price was a great deal and they called at certain points along the process to check in. Fantastic experience!

Went in a few days ahead of time. I needed the cake for 9:00 am on a saturday. She said that someone would be there at 8:30 and I could pick it up then. I prepaid because she wasn't sure if the register would be open when my husband arrived. Saturday morning he picked up the cake no problem!It was pretty dang good too!!! More...

Monica's Bundt Cake did an excellent job on our wedding cake! Sometimes with wedding cakes, people focus more on the looks of the cake vs. the flavor, but Monica's did amazing on both accounts. It was absolutely delicious and the girl there does as an excellent job making your cake mimic your wedding dress, if so desired. I gave her several pictures of my wedding dress design and she did an amazing job replicating it on the cake. Everyone loved it! The only problem we had with them was that we booked them the November or December before our June wedding, and they didn't have the new year's calendar out yet when we booked them, and they forgot they booked us a few months before the wedding!
