Everytime I come to Louisville Kentucky I always stop in at mama mustards even if I'm not hungry they have the best smocked wings on top of that there Customer service is top notch

Where bbq, bourbon, & horse racing meet! This is one of my favorite establishments in Louisville. While I generally don't like dry-rub wings, their wings beat out any other wings I've ever had - wet or dry - hands down. My go to is to get 5 wings along with one slider and a side of fries. If I'm visiting in the evenings or on a weekend, I'll also pair with a bourbon slushee or cocktail. They have a good, sizable selection of bourbons behind the bar. Potentially even better than the food and bourbon is the fact that they give back 2% to various Louisville non-profit organizations that play pivotal roles in our community. I absolutely, hands-down LOVE Momma's. This is the best place for wings in Louisville. You wouldn't know that immediately if you're not familiar with Momma's. In the mood for barbecue? They have great options here too. You can even get it on a sandwich with lots of yummy, melted cheese! I have not had anything here that I don't like, including the desserts. By far a favorite! It's hard to decide what to love more the burnt ends, the pork the bourbon slushies, or the amazing in house made coleslaw, potato salad, or baked beans. No matter what you choose, at mommas, they will get you together. We always come hungry and leave with full bellies that make you feel the equivalent of thanksgiving comatose. Mommas has a pretty good sized menu with various meat and poultry options all packed full of that delicious smoked flavor. So much so that the meal is delicious with or without bbq sauce. The fried pickles are amazing especially on top of a bbq sandwich of your choice. For kids, the sliders are the deal. Add a small side for $2 and you have easily customized a meal perfect for your little one. My four year old is ALWAYS very impressed with the brisket and tells everyone it's the most delicious meat. Wow. Mind blown! The beef ribs and succulent chicken wings were out of this world. Okay this place is a hidden hole in the wall, it is in a small building ( a two story house converted into a grub joint). The food is awesome ! Their ribs and sides are outstanding. Solid BBQ choice. The beef ribs were very good with tons of flavor. The cheezy corn was the stand out as far as sides go. My wife had the brisket grilled cheese sandwich which was good too . I had been meaning to try this place out, but every time I thought about it I wasn't in the mood for bbq. Well this week the stars aligned, and I'm glad they did because this is a place I will definitely return to. We went on a Monday mid-afternoon and were the only customers in the building from what I saw. They have two levels. We walked in on the lower level and chose to walk up a small flight of stairs to a more brightly lit dining area. I really enjoyed how many christmas lights they had up - it was just a sweet little reminder of the season. I look at a menu before I go somewhere... because I want one of everything and need time to decide :) We ordered fairly quickly, and our food took an appropriate amount of time to know it was cooked to order. I was actually surprised when it came out because the sides were hefty portions which I appreciate. The food was great - I want more as I write this. I had no qualms. I am not a big soft/sweet pickle fan but even those had a flavor that made me forget my usual go to's. Our sever was attentive, polite, and personable. I will be back to try their doughnut bread pudding because I was too full this time around. Oh! And they have a tiny tax that the owner matches - all proceeds go to local charities. There's nothing like some good home cooking. The beef ribs here are the best in town! The spicy fried pickles are also equally as delicious! Let's not over look their condiments like the ranch and bbq sauce because those are amazing~~~ the sides are a la carte but totally worth it! Get the cheesy corn and cornbread! I have been here around 5-6 times but the only reason I cannot give it a 5 stars is their service is never consistent. Once, I waited nearly an hour for my food and saw tables that arrived later than me served way before I was. Another time, it took 15-20 min for someone to serve us. I searched for a good bbq and cole slaw place in Louisville and found this place had high ratings. I was greeted right away and was told that they were known for their wings and ribs. When I’m at bbq places, I eat pulled pork and cold slaw sandwich. Because I didn’t order wings or ribs, “Lance” my server gave me a sample of their wing! I was amazed at how delicious EVERYTHING was!!! The smoked meat tasted so fresh! The cole slaw was perfect on my sandwich! The fresh cut fries were also good! We were traveling through from Nashville and so we decided to stop. Just wow...I don’t know how anyone could give this place less than 5 stars. I haven’t even left the restaurant while writing this review. The wings, brisket, Mac n cheese, fries, mashed potatoes and gravy, homemade mustard and pickles, BREAD PUDDING. ahhhmazing.
