David was prompt and absolutely delivered. I ordered a sectional from crate and barrel and it wouldn't fit up the stairs. He was able to take apart the arm and back of two pieces and even helped move them up the stairs . Any nails left, he cleaned up. The sectional looked like it was never touched. David was prompt, helpful, and careful in disassembling and then reassembling our brand new velvet sofa so we could move it through a very tight stairwell into our basement. We were nervous that it might look altered after he finished, but David was confident and very conscientious. He disassembled only as much as was necessary to navigate the tight space, chose the end of the sectional that would disappear into the corner rather than the exposed edge (and even still, it looks great), was responsive to our questions and feedback at tricky moments, and worked efficiently to get the job done! My only advice is to have lots of drop cloths on hand if possible to cover a wide area of floor around the furniture project. Disassembly and reassembly leave behind a lot of sawdust and staples, which can be dangerous underfoot. More...

I would absolutely hire David again for furniture repair. Â I had a disastrous experience with the delivery of a sleeper sofa by Lugg. Â During transportation by Lugg, a bolt sheared off the couch, causing the opening mechanism to be non-functional. Â My 'new to me couch' was broken. Â Rather than trash the couch, I was hopeful that David could fix the broken mechanism.He did! Brand new-to-me sofa sleeper has been fixed. Â So grateful to him for his help. More...

David helped us out when we needed it the most! He was able to take an arm off our giant couch (which we bought off Craigslist so we couldn't return, yikes) and get it into our not-so-giant apartment. He was professional, organized, and the final price ended up being slightly under the original quote, which we really appreciated.Plus while he had the arm off, he was able to bolster the existing wooden structure and give us great tips about what to look for when buying couches in the future :) David is definitely a couch expert!Would HIGHLY recommend David for his couch disassembly / assembly to anyone in the Bay Area who needs it. I tried to schedule an appointment with David for 3 weeks for a minor task - he either push out the date to 1-2 wks later, or cancel the job on the same day, or asking my availability and told me later he was not available, when I called he either not answering or saying he can not talk right now "sorry". He was so accommodating with our schedule and quickly worked us in. On the day of he showed up prompt and got to work right away. He disassembled and reassembled it with ease. My husband and I recently used David for our couch disassembly and reassembly service and he was not only a lifesaver but a true master of his craft. Our couch was too big to fit in our upstairs living area but David was able to disassemble the back and arm to make it fit in our room and then he put it all back together. We were thinking we would either have to go through the hassle of returning the couch or hire movers to help us move it through an upstairs window. David was a lifesaver after professional movers gave up on trying to get our extra-deep couch out of our apartment. We called him expecting to need his disassembly/reassembly services, but he seemed as bothered as we were by the fact that the couch got INTO the apartment in one piece, so it should have been able to get OUT. He ended up finding the perfect angle and shimmying it out in literally seconds, no disassembly needed (again -- professional, highly-rated movers had tried, tried again, and finally given up altogether). He also helped us move the couch down from the second story, and then he transported it to our new home and helped us move it in (also not straightforward, although no disassembly ultimately needed). There aren't a lot of sofa disassembly/reassembly services in the Bay. The only other one we were able to find had a month-long wait and quoted us a similar cost, but did not include transport between locations. I really appreciated David's willingness to start with a less invasive option than disassembly, and have no doubt that he would've been a huge help if we'd ultimately needed things taken apart. I hope not to be in this kind of pinch again, but I'd happily call David if we were. More...

If you're like me, sometimes you do something dumb like order a sofa that's just a little to big to make it into the intended room. If you ever find yourself in this situation, David at Mobile Furniture Assembly now is your guy. In quick order, he was able to remove an arm from our custom ordered sleeper sofa (I'd be lying if I said this wasn't a little terrifying to watch, but it was no sweat for David), move it into our home, and carefully rebuild it. When all was done, there was no evidence at all that only moments ago it had been cut into pieces on the sidewalk. Of course, when the time came to move, the process had to be repeated. Not only did David again skillfully disassemble and reassemble our sofa, but he was able to transport it to our new home as well. While in the future I plan to measure more carefully, I know that whenever the need arises for careful furniture work, we've got a guy. More...
