We attended the Styx concert tonight which we thoroughly enjoyed the band. However, the usher/security guy who interrupted my enjoyment during the band’s first set was extremely rude. We purchased seats in the Loge on the right side row A seats 16 and 17. We were seated there for at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the show and I had a bottle of water sitting on the ledge in front of me for the majority of that time. My bottle of water stayed capped unless I was drinking from it. All around the Loge area there were numerous drinks sitting on the ledge including several that were fully open without a cap. So if there was to be a problem with drinks being in the ledge there was ample time to address the situation before the concert began but not once did anyone from the theatre say a word to me or anyone else around me. Then this extremely rude guy taps me on the shoulder and proceeds to shine a flashlight in my eyes and screamed at me that I needed to move my fully capped bottle of water. I looked around and saw quite a few other patrons with open drinks in the same place as mine has been but did this guy tap any of them on the shoulder and interrupt them??? Not a one. I watched and he didn’t bother to shine his flashlight into anyone else’s face and so rudely tell them to move their drinks. Then during the intermission people continued to bring their drinks back from concessions and place them on the ledge and no one else got singled out in the manner that I did. I doubt that I will be back to a show at the Saenger in the future because of this awful experience.
