Carolyn Germaine, from Grand Avenue Wedding Officiants, was supper quick to respond to my mid October query. As the mother of the Bride, she explained her services, timeline, fees and gave me helpful recommendations for wedding locations to consider because of covid. She followed up with me during our decision making process. Then made arrangements with my daughter and her fiancee for a pre-ceremony survey, an interview to hear about their wants and needs including a suggestion to them on writing their vows. Carolyn and I were in regular communications leading up to the wedding day. Due to covid, she helped us to pivot to an outdoor location not far from her office for the ceremony. She arrived on time, as planned, for a beautiful and bright afternoon. My wife and I were married on October 24th, 2020. The wedding ceremony was officiated by Carolyn Germaine of Grand Avenue Wedding Officiants, and we couldn't have possibly been happier with our experience. I want to kick off my review by highly, highly recommending Carolyn!

Shortly after sending our inquiry to Carolyn, she reached out for a consultation (she made it clear that this initial phone conversation was merely a consultation, at no charge). During this initial consultation, Carolyn got to know some personal details about myself and my wife, our families, and our lives. Within the first five minutes of our conversation, my wife and I looked at each other and smiled: we knew right away that we'd be hiring Carolyn. She was incredibly sweet and articulate and helpful, asking all the right questions, and reiterated throughout our chat that everything about the ceremony would be personalized, customized, down to the last word.

Later came a longer conversation, whereby Carolyn really got to know my wife and I. The reason for this was for Carolyn to draft a personalized service for our wedding. She asked questions like, "What do you love about each other?" And asked for romantic, noteworthy or otherwise unforgettable stories about our relationship. She even asked about verbiage (i.e., religious v. secular) we would prefer, in order to please our families and ourselves, and to not alienate any of the attendees.

Shortly after, Carolyn provided us with her draft. It was perfect, and flawlessly tailored to our wants and needs.

Day of, she traveled to our venue in Marine on Saint Croix, arriving ahead of schedule, and promptly took the reins (my wife and I were running around trying to get ready, etc., so it was a huge relief that Carolyn seamlessly slipped into a role of sincere authority).

The ceremony itself was beautiful, and every word of Carolyn's service was spot-on and wonderfully written. To say she's a professional is an understatement; she was more like a godsend who took what could've been a disorganized jumble and ensured it was smooth and magical.

Carolyn herself is wonderfully personable, easy to talk to, friendly and warm. In other words, we couldn't have asked for a better officiant. We both highly, highly recommend hiring Carolyn Germaine and Grand Avenue Wedding Officiants for your greater Twin Cities area wedding. More...
