What do you love most about your job?
YOU! I get to meet and become friends with some of the most incredible people and get to go on some fantastic adventures, all while capturing memories that get to last forever.
What inspired you to start your own business?
This is actually not my FIRST business. I am also one of the owners of RPG (Restaurant, Pub, & Games) in Lawrence, KS. But that doesn't pay the bills (I make sure my team get paid and are taken care of instead). I have been in photography for years and the freedom of capturing the moment is... just exciting and fun. Photography is an adventure and I love every bit of it.
My degree is in Theatre, I have had 8 years of professional voice lessons and sung in some fantastic places (including Carnegie Hall), I was also in the military and went overseas in 2008-09, and I was the Technical Director for a nation-wide logistics company for many years as well. So with my creative passion, my adherence to schedules and plans and team collaboration, and my deep understanding of the technology I am holding... honestly, I have often asked myself why I didn't start in photography sooner.
But I guess the decision four years ago to jump in was the right one.
Why should our clients choose you?
I don't provide photography (well, I do) but what I really provide is peace of mind. I am a photographer, but I have experience in handling almost every situation you are experiencing and know how to work through or around any issues you may have. I haven't had a client yet say that they didn't have a great experience.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
I am totally down for discussing and planning online or remotely... but it is hard to take photos that way.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Whatever you need me to do to make you feel safe I will do. I have photographed in masks, kept socially distanced, and much more for my clients should they request it.
Wedding/Engagement
When it comes to your wedding I don't consider myself just your photographer.
I'm happy to help with any detail from small to large. I have been a part of the wedding/event industry for more than 15 years, so, any advice you need is only one text away.
On your big day I help to put you at ease. I've been known to bustle dresses and pin on boutonnieres, properly fold a pocket square, help the sound team rewire a wireless mic, help your aunt understand the difference between a straightener vs a curler, and chat with your uncle about cameras at the reception (I might even dance a little too). Consider me a part of your family for the day and celebrating with you.
