This is not my home gym but the facility was great! The equipment seemed very new and in great condition. The shower/bathrooms were very clean and well lit. The entire facility was very clean and bright inside. My only complaint is there isn't a stand up water bottle fill station with the drinking fountain like my home gym has. This would be excellent as an addition but otherwise no complaints from me! More...

I have been working with Chad since mid March.
After a quarterly visit with my Rheumetologist where I was complaining about chronic pain in my back, hip and neck it was discovered that the left side of my body was 50% weaker and had much less flexibility than the right. My doctor recommended that I seek out some sort of strength training. Through fear of causing more pain and potential injury I decided to seek out a personal trainer. I sure am glad that I did and that I met Chad!
Chad spent time with me understanding what my goals and limitations were and developed a strengthening plan that has worked out fabulous. And while weight loss wasn't my primary goal as I was more concerned in lost mobility and deteriorating quality of life. I am so happy to say that after just 4 months I have lost a total of 11 1/2" inches, my neck and back pain are GONE! At my last follow up doctors visit he rechecked strength and flexibility and found that I have improved by over 25%.
Chad knows when to push and watches my form to ensure I am making the most of the workout without causing any injury. He is extremely easy to work with and flexible. He works with my work/travel schedule which is greatly appreciated as like most people the day to day schedule is pretty full.
I have recommended Chad to many people and will continue to do so. I know I wouldn't have gotten to where I am now without him!!!!!!

1st gym I ever joined, Robin that maintains the cleanliness of the gym is the best, sweetest lady ever. Downside is people dont wipe down equipment but this is a patron problem. Also I feel like the people that are "more fit" than I somewhat take over the gym More...

Working out with Chad Roth aka Sweet Potato was the best experience I've ever had working out! He doesn't take you on as only a client. He treats you like a human being and couldn't a nicer guy! A great trainer is an understatement!!! More...

I started using the gym on a daily basis after not fitting on a ride with my little girl at the fair. I did the same routine with cardio mainly because I thought losing weight=cardio. While I did lose a good amount of weight, I felt I needed something else. I saw Chad Roth training new and regular people daily. He is busy. I watched what he was doing and compared to what I was doing. There is no comparison. He listened to my goals, wrote everything down, measured me, and we started a regular routine. Every week. We've been together now 6 weeks, and in that time, I've lost 16 pounds, and 4 and 5 inches off my chest, waist, hips, and 1-3 inches in neck, arms, calves. I am very pleased of his dedication not only in fitness, but has offered videos, emails, and posts on healthy eating, and how HE does it, even when you're busy. Thank you! More...

Hey guys! I’m a current client of Chads, since February 2018. I was super nervous at first starting personal training because I actually never stepped into the gym before starting personal training. He made me feel super comfortable and is very personable and pushes you to do your best. He will help you achieve any goal you are willing to accomplish if you are willing to do what he tells you including proper diet. I have a really hectic schedule; I work 2 jobs and a student- & he still is able to accommodate my schedules. If you are looking for some results.. Chads the trainer for you! More...

Overall, I had a very positive experience here. The gym is a little small, and at times it can get crowded - but I have NEVER had a problem with other members in those situations. People work around each other in a very positive and comfortable environment. You get a mixture of serious lifters and casual walkers, but everyone has been friendly. I've interacted with the staff on a very limited basis, but every interaction has been positive and orientated around customer service. I left the Merrillville gym (Taft and Rte 30) after having a dreadful experience with their staff there. Bigger isn't always better, and in this case, I was happy with my move. More...

Q&As

I train individuals the way I would want to be trained. I take pride knowing I give my clients my FULL attention their entire time they spend with me. If I were investing my hard earned money in someone to get me into shape, I want that session to be all about ME. It takes more than having various certifications or "book smarts" to do this job effectively. It takes YEARS of experience working with varieties of individuals with different goals, body types, and physical limitations to really be an effective trainer. These are the things I feel strongly about that make a solid trainer.

Hardwork and discipline. Being willing to do whatever it takes to change your lifestyle around for a happier and healthier life.

What I like most about my job is the satisfaction of proving people wrong. Having someone who comes to me with a negative attitude, who's really down about themselveseeing them change their life around physically and mentally. I LOVE seeing before and after pictures of my clients. It makes me feel good inside knowing I'm responsible for getting someone off medication they've been prescribed on for years because of exercise! That's a pretty surreal feeling. I enjoy making people laugh or just being there so they have someone to vent to. So I guess there's many things I like about my job.

When I started working out, I did it because I needed to blow off some steam... I had anger issues as a kid and all I cared about was getting as big as I could so no one would pick on me at school. Well after years of working out hard and eating everything in sight, I grew. I was no longer a skinny kid that got pushed around. When I got the results I wanted my whole mindset changed though. I became more positive of a person. I knew that if I apply myself by putting more work in than the next person, I can accomplish anything. With these changes, I was being asked questions at gyms from individuals looking for advice. I started helping others and became better socializing with people than I ever have been. It was then that I knew I wanted to apply this as a career and strive to help others.

I ALWAYS GIVE OUT A FREE COMPLIMENTARY TRAINING SESSION... If you're not sure that you'll like something... Why not try it out for FREE?! I understand people are intimidated by a gym atmosphere or nervous when working with a personal trainer for the first time. That's why I do this!
