From Sales staff to the install team the purchase and install went very well. It helps as a owner to do your research first. In the sale we discussed the options and they gave some great recommendations. I went with 5" upper gutters feeding into 6" gutters on the lower. Everyone at Great Lakes Gutters went above and beyond to provide the best service possible. When the old gutters were removed they discovered we needed to have a considerable amount of fascia repairs done. While this wasn't great news, I'm so happy they let us know so we could get the repairs done before having the new gutters installed. Plenty of other companies would have just put on the new gutters and never returned our calls when we started to have issues. Once we had the repairs completed they were quick to get us back on the schedule. The crew that installed our gutters did a top notch job and really paid attention to all the details. Our 110 year old home needed help. We have lived in this residence for almost 43 years and now it needed more than just “band-aiding. ” After checking out several companies, to the rescue came Great Lakes Gutter Company. We were immediately impressed during the initial contact when Bill talked to two very knowledgeable, patient and welcoming receptionists, Kaitlin and Stephanie. After having our home painted, it was time to add the gutters. Rob Noe, Project Manager, came to our location, surveyed the issues, listened to what we wanted and presented a plan of action with reasonable estimated costs as to what would be involved. It was definitely a challenge that they were willing to take on. From the very beginning Kevin and Micah arrived with welcoming smiles, energy and a focus. They unloaded ladders, tools and quality materials (which reflected the color choice that we had given). Having a very old home presented aged problems; but nothing that this incredible team couldn't tackle and overcome with their creative mission. There was open communication with us and a definite focus on positive customer relations which was always evident. Each of them was positive and self-directed as the work progressed. At times the heat and humidity of Michigan's notorious summer weather would have slowed down most workmen, but not these guys. We don't know if they took any breaks; each hour produced visible progress. It was obvious that they wanted to be on-schedule. The flurry of accurate action was like worker bees. This company was detail-oriented with perfection as a goal. The gutters have given our home new and extended life thanks to Great Lakes Gutters. The clean-up effort was efficient and complete with a final inspection when Kevin and Micah had us accompany them around the whole house for any comments or alterations. They definitely had a mark of pride in their work. We would highly recommend this fantastic business. Their work ethic is something to behold and they are terrific, inspiring role-models for others. The job was completed in good time and my only regret was not listening to the salesman for a suggestion. Now I know. Gutters are installed and look amazing. They matched the color perfectly. It has a tight seal and when we had a hard rain, didn't leak through as did before. The entire process was awesome! I missed my first meeting (completely forgot to be home) to get an estimate and the sales man that came to my house still did the estimate without me being there! When I called to apologize and reschedule I found out that it was already done. I was working with a designer that wanted to see several colors that are offered and Great Lakes Gutter company was very helpful and gave me samples in each color I requested. Once I was finally ready to order (many months later) they treated me like I was their only customer. They worked with my designer, house painter, and many emails from me, with out hesitation. Today Gary and his team came out to install the gutters! Gary was amazing, his team was awesome. Great Lakes Gutter just completed the tear down and new installation of our higher volume gutters. John who initially quoted our job was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful in describing what needed to be done. The installation crews walked me through what was discussed before the job started to confirm the work to be done. I had a great experience throughout the whole process. The office manager, Kaitlyn, was wonderful to work with; the estimator was great; prices were fair, and the crew was polite, professional and made all my particular requests about downspout/extender placements, etc. come true. Only one minor complaint is that there was one ground area where they didn't clean the fasteners up very well. Also, be careful about the color samples. EDITED ON AUGUST 28, 2018A couple of days later, we received a call from Great Lakes Gutters. Their estimate came in $300 cheaper than the other ones we received. They also apologized for what had happened and offered us a discounted price for their mistake. I'm not totally sure what happened to make them miss the scheduled estimate but I do know stuff happens. Had work done on the 17th of August. Gutters are working great, happy with the work they did. Now that gutters are not leaking or drainspouts not by foundation of house, I also have a dryer basement!! I take back my will not recommend and make that a will recommend. The crew just finished installing the gutters. It was an exceptional job they cleaned up everything. During the install, they noticed there was a color difference between the down south, and attachment fixtures and the aluminum coil that they were making the gutters out of.
