Great Mexican food. People think it's pricey, it's not for what you're getting. I think the problem in the Northeast is that most people don't know what real Mexican food is, this is the real deal.

UPDATE:  it's gone!  The restaurant has burnt down!patch.com/new-jersey/tom…Fresh, tasty ingredients make for a great meal.  This is my second time here, and it doesn't disappoint.  Fresh salsa and chips ( neither greasy nor too thick) kick the meal off.  I had the Azteca Burrito- big chunks of shrimp and meat with crisp ingredients garnished with a mango salsa and covered in a delicious cheese sauce.  The live music was a nice touch.  No liquor license, but the food makes up for this drawback.   Come here- you won't be disappointed! This is one of those 'hole in the wall' hidden gems you could easily miss if you aren't paying attention, but if you never try it you're missing out. This place is in a small little strip-mall type location and it's tiny with a sign that doesn't really jump out at you making it kinda hard to see. I lived in Toms River for almost 3 years before I found this place and it's only a few blocks from me. I've driven past it countless times, and due to loving Mexican food, I always notice new places to try, so for it to take me years to find is saying a lot.Location aside, this place is pretty small inside and is not very visually appealing. This doesn't bother me at all, I care about food quality and cleanliness. This place may be small and unassuming, but it's very clean and the food is AMAZING. Everything the five of us ordered was very good or excellent. Not a single complaint was had by any of my kids which is nothing short of amazing. Even the deserts were spectacular. I've been there for lunch a few times since and have been happy every time. The service is always great and the food quality is always above average. The only thing I'd say somewhat negative is that it's a little bit pricy. I wouldn't say expensive, because it's absolutely worth the money, it's just pricy. This place is spotless and though there were only a couple people eating here presently, there were many takeout orders in the interim. It's a gem in a nameless strip mall on Rte 9. It cries authentic Mexican cuisine.Chips and homemade salsa were placed on my table by Gianna, my server. This salsa was great and I mean Great. I could have made this my meal. This place is a hidden gem! Have been here a bunch of times and every time the food has been delicious! My top 5 favorite restaurants by far.  The food is fresh and delicious.  How do I know it is fresh? I order the same few things all the time (get the azteca combo! ) and it is always slightly different each time depending on what ingredients they picked up fresh from the store.  It is clean, the bathrooms are clean, the servers are accommodating, it is BYOB (they'll make you whatever cocktail you want as well if you bring the alcohol), and the food is awesome. Azteca is phenomenal. The tortilla soup is the best soup outside of Mexico. I don't know how they do it but it is so flavorful and cheesy. The portions at this place are huge! Every time I come here I can never finish my meal and always take it home; which is good because the leftovers taste just as good. The only thing this place has that is working against it is the location. It is located in the strip mall which gives you the feeling they want to be more of a take out place than an eat in joint. Very good food: fresh ingredients, well-prepared, very well-seasoned. The portions are for two people or two meals easily, and take-out packaging is so lovingly done in big aluminum containers. They are in our regular take-out rotation.Friendly as heck, as well. Let's one substitute sides or stuffing for tacos, etc. in combos too.We did not realize they bake cakes to order too. The best fajitas my husband and I  have had. I had the shrimp, and my husband had the steak!!! We were to full for desert,  my husband had a cup of coffee, which was very robust. We will definitely go back.
