Was here on a Saturday night. Not busy at all. Went with a big group. They were out of a lot of cocktails so we ended up doing pitchers of margs and beers. Def a lot better if you have a lot of people. The tacos were ok. Thought they'd be bigger for the price. The patio was heated which was nice. Our server was great but def could've used a refill at some point. All in all it was ok. Would I go back...probably if someone else really wants to go. More...

I'm not easy to impress when it comes to food. I've literally traveled the world to eat food from Bangkok to Paris. Tacos have never 'wowed' me in the slightest. .. until Cholita. And what's really head scratching to me is that the vegetarian tacos are the real show stopper. Don't scoff at the avocado or brussels sprouts tacos, because they have more flavor than any of the meat versions. So delicious!! Somehow they have created a taco menu where each taco tastes totally different. Not a sauce + cheese + xyz meat and repeat kind of restaurant. I'm even in love with their salsa... a smoky, finely pureed red salsa... mmmmmm. I recommend trying all of the tacos, but my favorites are the avocado and the cod.Food arrives fast here and some of the servers want to turn over tables fast too... have had one push a little rudely to get us to leave. Patient waitress answered all our questions and just didn't rush away. She kept coming back to check on us, I love that. Food was wonderful and neatly prepared. The combo appetizer plate is the bomb with nachos, salsa, bean crock, and guacamole. Tacos are corn, kind of small but full of goodness and priced right. When I go back I'm definitely drinking some Mezcal. We split a pitcher of spicy hot margaritas with Sarenno peppers. Outdoor patio is awesome. Here we are at the end of February dining outside and our whole group took our coats off. 1/2 price appetizer on Saturday was quickly demolished with a pitcher of fire margaritas. Head to Cholita for the unlimited brunch menu! On Saturdays and Sunday's it's a fun time to go out with friends and try all of the small plates. You can expect to only order one small plate per person per order, but you can order as many times as you want. We need another taco spot like we need another steakhouse in Indy. However, despite my frustration with the same types of restaurants continuing to take over the area (tacos, steak, and breweries), I still decided to try this place. I was hoping the hot Cheeto corn was going to be mind-blowing, but instead, it had hardly any flavor and came out cold. I didn't bother to ask for another; servers appeared overwhelmed. The guacamole was super average and the house-made tortilla chips were thick and greasy and also lacked flavor. Finally, the flavors in all of our tacos were good, but they had too much in them and therefore the soggy weak tortillas couldn't withstand, just falling apart and leaving all the taco filling in our hands. It's started fine with the cheese skillet and went off the rails after that. Five tacos and they were all bland and or so sloppy they fell apart. Nothing had an ounce of flavor. The tostada was so hard you could kill a man with a shard of it. The jus for the taco was tasteless. Cholita Taqueria is amazing! It was easy to find as it is located on a corner right in the heart of Broad Ripple. Parking was extremely easy compared to other restaurants in Broad Ripple. Cholita Taqueria has a good-sized parking lot behind the building that patrons can use.My friends and I went on a Friday night and to my surprise, there was no wait to sit down. We sat outside on the high-top counter which gave us a cool view of Broad Ripple. I would definitely recommend sitting outside. If you want to have conversations with more than two people though it would be hard to do on the counter.The tacos are a little on the small size, but I preferred that because many come on corn tortillas. I ordered the la Gringa and al Pastor tacos. The quality of the food was also really excellent, and it felt like the tacos I ate were worth much more than $3. My favorite taco was the La Gringa as it was a fun twist between a quesadilla and a taco!Our server was awesome and got the food out to us quickly. We were also celebrating a birthday in our group, and she noticed. Which was very thoughtful and helped out friend feel really special. A couple weeks ago, I came to Cholita for the first time back for solo eats since COVID. I caught wind of there Devour Indy specials going on, and was delighted to see the same $3 going on every week for Taco Tuesdays. The host was polite and directed to the best seat in the house--the outdoor corner bar seating to catch all the passers by on the Monon & Broad Ripple Ave. Each taco my really sweet waitress brought me was flavorful and tasted fresh. Cholita Taqueria is the bomb! I came here a few weeks ago with my cousins. We came here on a Wednesday at about 7pm. To my surprise the place was packed. I assumed because it was a Wednesday it would be less people compared to the weekend. Well I was wrong, but it let me know right away I was in for a treat. It was 4 of us total and the waitress sat us in one of the big booths. The booth was perfect and we had windows all around us to look out on to Broadripple Ave. We decided to get the guacamole and salsa with chips for our appetizers. We all also ordered drinks. I don't remember the drinks my cousins ordered, but I got the wildberry mule. This was one of the best mules I have ever had and it was so sweet. Two of my cousins got tacos and my other cousin got the mission carne asada nachos. My cousins all loved their food. My younger cousin who ordered the nachos couldn't believe how large the portion was. It is listed as a starter so I told her that's why it was so huge to her. She stated right then she would be taking half of it home for left overs lol. I ordered the cholita taqueria salad with ranch and I added steak plus the house made habanera salsa. The salad was so beautiful when it came out! I am not exaggerating, but you can see for yourself in the picture I posted. The waitress was not lying when she said the habanera salsa was spicy. I love spicy and anything that makes me want to drink water is right up my alley. Don't judge me. I also order a round of the cinnamon spiced churros and they came with a chocolate and caramel dipping sauce. I was upset that the churros were so small, but they were still really good. My goodness! Where have I been this whole time?!?! Wow! I drive by this place often and have always wondered what the food was like. I have been MISSING OUT!!! My home girl and I went to watch the Colts opener and that Sunday brunch is PHENOMENAL! First we got to sit on the deck that has plenty of TVs to watch the game. The staff were accommodating and making sure each tv was covered with the Colts (even tho we loss ). Anyway, our server was super helpfully and friendly. She explained everything since I hadn't been before but my friend had. Y'all the queso with the pita chips is one of the most delicious things I've ever had! For $22 we got to sit and eat for 3 hours! It started getting warm (90 degree day) and then the bees would not leave us alone, towards the end. The guacamole was so fresh and the salsa has a nice Smokey flavor to it. The Mexican corn was interesting. I scraped off the Cheetos because I don't eat them on a normal day but the corn was good. I had the shrimp tacos, fish tacos, Brussel sprout tacos and my favorite was the biscuits and gravy! This place was great! I'm new to the area and heard a ton of great things about Broad ripple and decided to try this place out! We walked in and we were seated right away! Agnus was our waitress and was AMAZING!! Not only did she explain all of the deals of Labor to us; the brunch menu, drink deals the works! She was so helpful and even took my allergies into consideration and double checked sometime without me even asking! She made sure that not only was our meal was safe but that it was to our liking. Tried Cholita for the first time today during brunch. I had the mimosa with orange juice, pretty standard. My friend didn't like the pomegranate juice. The tacos were small for the price but had a decent flavor. My friend's tacos were not quite hot when served. If I had been hungrier, the tacos would not have been satisfying because of their small size. And they are not cheap at 2 for $6! The chips seemed store-bought, the salsa and guac lacked flavor with only small pieces of cilantro and no peppers in sight. Wanted to try something breakfast so we decided on brunch so we decided to try and different take on brunch with Mexican cuisine. We absolutely loved Cholita everything was hot and came out in a timely matter . We got the all you can eat brunch which was a great deal they have a extensive menu With a lot of great options that you can try from. We really loved the chipotle chicken wings had a great sweet and savory flavor we probably ordered 2-3 refills they were so delicious . Next was the chorizo biscuit and gravy was my husband favorite very different take on biscuits and gravy that was delicious light and fluffy biscuits with a spicy chorizo gravy was to die for. All the tacos were served on corn tortillas that you can tell were homemade very delicious with all the topping and different kind of protein you were able to put on each taco. It's a real shame to make my next review of this place one star, after having great experiences for Sunday brunch twice in the past. However, my experience for carry out on a Tuesday night was among some of the worst dining experiences I have had. We had ordered carry out for 7:15 and received a confirmation text. My partner is vegetarian and has specific food allergies that were delineated on our order. When we arrived a little late, we were notified that their tablet system went down for a period and it might be another 10-15. Whatever, system errors can happen. After about 35 minutes from then, our food finally came. Unfortunately after being so antsy that it's now 8pm and finally had something in hand, we drove off pretty quickly. However, Cholita had called and notified us that we were missing two orders of a corn appetizer that cost $15 and then asked if we wanted to come back for them. Of course we did after all this poorly invested experience. When we finally opened our takeout boxes after this thrilling experience, we had the saddest tacos with bland toppings and hard tortillas. Even worse, all of our tacos were mixed together in the same box, despite our insistence that we had specific food allergies, with toppings spilling between each of the tacos. Would it be that difficult to separate allergen specific tacos into different boxes? Our churros was effective one churro cut into fourths and then sold at $7. Unsurprisingly the street corn was underwhelming. Thank goodness I can get better corn at the state fair, which just started this week. So disappointed about this experience after having great times before. They did give us a gift card and chips and dip for whatever it's worth. Not sure if and when I'll come back though. More...

I went there a few days ago for brunch and frankly, it was so gas. The most fire food I've ever had for a meal between the time of breakfast and lunch. The tacos made me feel like I was in a Spanish villa on the coast of España. My server, Maddie, was probably the best server I've ever had. I asked her what the best drink they had was and she said "el Camino" which made me think I was in Tulúm, Mexico on the beautiful sandy beaches.
