Before beginning counseling with Mental Fitness, I was struggling to improve my life. Abusing drugs and alcohol, overweight, unemployed, I was a mess. I had tried other counselors to no avail. It felt like they were just reading from a generic manual, so nothing penetrated, nothing ever stuck. Counseling just felt like a task, something you had to do so you could say you tried it. Right from the start I could tell that Steve was different. It is a rare thing to meet someone so dedicated to his field, someone so motivated and passionate towards improving the lives of others. Steve helped me confront the negative and self defeating thinking that was hindering any improvements to my well-being. He connects to you on a human level, like your cornerman in the fight to become a better you. Soon I found myself remembering advice and lessons from prior counseling sessions and implementing them in my life. Things were getting through to me and sticking. Since counseling with Steve I have lost 45lbs, quit smoking, have steady employment, and I no longer abuse drugs and alcohol. I am making improvements to nearly every aspect of my life. People who I haven't seen me in a couple years don't even recognize me. I owe a good chunk of my success to Steve and I would highly recommend Mental Fitness to others. More...

Q&As

I believe most people are selling themselves short. Helping others achieve their full potential is the best part of my job.

We think a lot about our bank accounts, the calories we consume, and the amount of time we sleep. We count our money, steps, and calories. What we don’t think about, however, is the quality of our thoughts.

The average person has 60,000 thoughts each day. Yet, for many, it’s a 4 to 1 negative to positive thoughts ratio. It’s no wonder at any given time one out of five people in the US are struggling with depression or anxiety.

Think of it this way- if you made $60,000 per day that’s $21.9 million per year. If I made that amount of money, I would most certainly consult with a financial advisor. That’s the same think one could consider me: an advisor for your thinking.

Master your thinking, master your life!

You should only chose me if I’m the best fit for you. Choosing a life coach is an important decision. Do your research- find the fit that is best for you.

As for me, I’m an entrepreneur, new father, adopted dog owner, children’s book author, and amateur endurance athlete. If that description sounds like it may be the right fit for you- give me a try!
