Dan was a pleasure to work with. His suggestions were spot-on and he reworked a few items for the dietary needs of the guests (runners, vegans, etc). The Garden Enchiladas, the Chicken Enchiladas and the Mexican Pasta Salad were hits. Dan adapted the grilled vegetables to have a Mexican spice pallet and they went quickly. Dan arrived on time, the directions for heating the platters and topping the enchiladas was concise and simple, and I thought his prices were reasonable. The only negative comment I received was about the styrofoam and plastic bowls Dan provided for the condiments and the Mexican chili beans not being recyclable - quickly remedied by removing the offending bowls. I volunteer for Forever Friends Golden Retriever Rescue (a golden retriever rescue in Ventura County and Santa Barbara). Â We had our Annual Adopter's Reunion today (Sunday 6/11/17) and we asked Men of Mesquite BBQ to caterer our event. Â Not only was the food delicious (tri-tip, chicken, enchiladas, salads, salsa) but the service was the best!!! Â Dan and his crew were there from 9:00 a.m. for setting up until probably close to 4:00 p.m. cleaning up. Â I really couldn't have asked for any better service than what we received. Â As Chairman of this Event and working closely with Dan, I never had to worry about anything. Â He was top notch and I would definitely recommend his services!!!! More...

We're lucky to find Men of Mesquite BBQ. Dan is so easy to work with, and he responds right away even on a job. Their web site has all the information on menu and prices. It made my search and ordering easy & straight forward. The food was outstanding! Honesty we found a gem on Yelp. We have struggled in the past to find a good cater that delivers to your house. Well prepared hot and scrumptious food, he was on time service and provided reasonable prices. Men of Mesquite covered everything. They provided plenty of great food. We ordered tri- tip well seasoned and moist. Roasted potatoes with garlic and herb was excellent compliment. The bbq chicken without skin was moist, not dry at all. Â All the guest asked who provided the food. I know Dan has a few potential customers. A friend requested his contact info so they cater for her parent's party. Thanks! On Sunday October the 30th my wife and I attended The Fall Nine n Dine at Mountain View Golf Course in Santa Paula where the Men of Mesquite lead by Chef Dan Diaz catered the event. Â The Golf was fun and the food was outstanding, from the Roasted Butternut Squash and Garlic Soup to the Roasted Sweet Potato Salad and Headlined by The Mesquite Seared Rib Eye in a Mushroom Peppercorn Sauce. Not to mention the Pumpkin Spiced Ice Cream.....WOW! Â If you have the chance The Men of Mesquite is a great choice for your BBQ Catering More...

My sister and I hosted a surprise anniversary party for our parents and hired Men of Mesquite to cater it. Dan Diaz was a involved from our earliest days of planning; we were familiar with his food when he was the long-time owner of a local established restaurant, which he recently sold. He is now an award winning bar-b-que expert! He enabled us to try several of his recommended appetizers, side dishes, and entrees at an open tasting he had planned. Though our event would be more formal, we loved his corn on the cob and chili beans and wished we could include them in our menu.The event turned out great. Men of Mesquite was prompt, detail oriented and made delicious food for the party. Â Dan was able to ensure that we had foods that could be enjoyed by our vegan and vegetarian guests, seamlessly integrating them into our menu.
