This is by far the best home/holiday store I’ve ever been in. Whether you’re looking for a card, gift, something for your home, a candle, framed art, funny socks, jewelry or just want to browse it’s the place to be. And trust me if you start reading the cards you will be belly laughing all by yourself. And the staff is super nice and friendly. I wish I had know about this place before. Looking for a unique gift or card or just something fun for your own home? Mellow Monkey is the perfect spot for all of these. Tucked away on a side street across from Sikorsky Airport, you'll be surprised to find this gem that's stocked with all kinds of interesting items. When you walk in, you come across all kinds of signs, including old ones with railroad stops or the hand-lettered variety that are so popular right now. As you head further inside, you will see the space is filled with so much that catches your eye. In addition to dozens of different kinds of candles and all sorts of beach-themed accents, you will find plenty of cool things with a local twist like the "Real Housewives of Milford" glasses and the "B*tch, please, I'm from Fairfield" mugs. Also, you can freshen up your own decor with items from Mellow Monkey like lamps, clocks, wreaths and framed art. I had two gifts on my list and found the perfect items at Mellow Monkey. I was thrilled that they were placed into a gift bag with bright blue tissue paper and a small sand dollar accent. The whole package just looked so thoughtful and absolutely perfect. Oh, and I found the best cards to go along with the gifts too!The gifts included the smaller candles in a tin and the report back was that my friends loved them. This store is awesome! It's kind of in an odd part of town, about halfway between downtown Stratford and Lordship near the Sikorsky airport. Driving up, you're not quite sure what you've gotten yourself into.But once you're inside, it's full of cool decor and cards. I got a good chuckle out of more than a few of the stuff they were selling.Most of their sales are done online (that's how I found them in the first place), but if you're nearby, this store is definitely worth poking around. It's heavily beach-vibe focused, but also has a lot of stuff tied to the area (Fairfield to New Haven, mostly, didn't see much for the rest of lower Fairfield County). More...
