My baby was not having a very photo-friendly day and Melanie knew just how to calm her and pose her beautifully for shots. She never once rushed us and literally calmed my baby better than I could. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
It is important to connect with the subject and make them feel comfortable, especially with children. I always make it a point to talk and play a little with the kids before I start snapping.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I would ask what shots are most important to them, as that becomes what is most important to me. I want my clients to be happy and I strive to make it happen for them.

My children. Knowing how quickly children change physically and emotionally...I became passionate about capturing as much as I possibly could before the next phase came along.
