This review is for Joscelynn and is long overdue. Joscelynn has been cutting my hair for three years since I've moved to Sacramento and I won't go to anyone else. I have thick, long asian hair that grows fast and I like to change up my hairstyle pretty often. From long layers to short angled lob to curtain bangs, she's given me the perfect hair everytime. She knows how to work with my hair type and has a good eye for the look I'm going for. She's also incredibly open and honest and I'm always very comfortable in her chair. We are able to discuss new hair ideas together and what would look best on me.The salon overall is quaint and I appreciate that they offer drinks while I wait for my haircut. The online booking system is super convenient and I like the text reminders for my appointment. The other staff are very friendly as well. I had my first appointment (ever) with Georgia yesterday....she not only came into work on her day off just so I could get my hair done, but she was amazing the whole time! She knew exactly what my hair needed to look the best, and I was in and out of the salon within two hours. Even better....I paid less than I anticipated. Melody is fantastic, friendly, and honest. She made my visit awesome and I am hooked after the first haircut. She will look into your eyes honestly, has tremendous personality, will tell you the truth even if you are dishonest with yourself. This was my first experience getting my hair professionally colored ever! The results are amazing! I had Joscelynn and she did such an amazing job. It took several hours because I have so much hair but she was patient with me and didn't cut corners with the process. This was just one session and she got my hair super light and toned it down some. My hair doesn't feel fried at all. The way she did the hair closer to my roots looks amazing in every direction even with my hair parting at different places. She really took the time to get the perfect highlighted pattern. I got my hair done by cassie rubi a couple weeks ago and i cannot reccomend her more. My appointment was from 2:30-830 and she made me feel so comfortable and she did an amazing job with my hair. Its really obvious that she knows what shes doing and that she loves her job. I could not be more impressed with my hair and all that she did. I had an appointment with Joscelynn and she is wonderful. Not only is she sweet and attentive, she takes the time to discuss what you want, why you want it, and offers her honest opinion. I have wavy/curly hair and was apprehensive, but she is well versed in curly hair and made me feel completely comfortable. Brianna is a miracle worker!! I'd highly recommend her for color corrections and/or balayage. She did a fantastic job fixing a bad dye job I got at another area salon. I went here for the first time recently and I had a great experience. I am terrible about regular hair upkeep and scheduling haircuts for myself--I usually just get to a point where I'm fed up with the current state of my hair and then I search around and try a new place out. Brianna was my stylist at Mecca and she was great! She listened to what I wanted (and what I DIDN'T want) and made recommendations based on my hair type and face shape so that the haircut would fit me. She didn't push product sales but did explain which products she was using and why. She also made excellent recommendations on other products when I explained issues I had (like hair thinning). I like that the salon uses more natural products (Davine's) and I did end up purchasing one volumizing product because it worked so well when Brianna used it on me. I'm so happy I chose to go with Mecca Salon .The atmosphere was inviting and the staff full of smiles. I've always been a Supercuts kind of guy, much to my wife's chagrin. For years she attempted to convert me through various devious means (for example, convincing me that I needed a professional cut before an interview). Despite her valiant efforts, I always went back to my $20 Supercuts after an expensive do.Upon moving to Sacramento, she again tried to alter my perspective. My hair was quite long at this point and she had grown weary of the curly locks, and so had I. She convinced me to visit Mecca salon with her, where we met Brianna.I loved Brianna from the get go; she was chill and fun to chat with about all manner of inane topics. As an added bonus, she expertly lopped off my gnarled mane and turned it into a stylish hair cut that many movie stars would envy for only $20 more than I was paying a Supercuts! I also discovered that it took approximately 20 seconds to style in the morning, which trounced part of my logic for growing it out - minimal work in the morning when you're okay with a mildewed mop on your noggin.Moving to present day, I still don't get a cut more than once every two months, but when I do Brianna at Mecca is my go to for a cut. Before and After- Hair by Georgia! I came into town for a concert and made the mistake of going to a friend of a friend to do my hair. She threw bleach on my entire head then gave me a nice orange headband of a root smudge. Georgia took me last minute the next day when I thought there was literally no hope of fixing it in time for the concert and was able to completely transform my hair into exactly what I asked for!! DEVONNEY IS THE BEST HAIR DRESSER I HAVE EVER HAD. I hate getting my hair cut, I always hate it and when I walk out of the salon it is never what I want. HOWEVER, Devonney changed my mind.
