Great location in heart of downtown & large windows around a corner to reveal the street scene on 2 sides. The service was very fine, unusually solicitous & helpful. Went here for my graduation with a large party of 18 people and they were super accommodating and our server was on top of everything. The food was decent. I think the food was overpriced for for its lackluster flavor but the portions were definitely on par. When something was missing they were quick to fix the problem and accomodate us. I had the Shrimp Kisses, a satisfying meal for shrimp lovers. The service was wonderful. Tom is to be commended for his attention to details. The bartender (Tom) created the most amazing winter/fall beer drink ever and I’m not even a fan of pumpkin!! He gave me the Shipyard Pumpkin Ale with a cinnamon-sugar rim and IT. WAS. INCREDIBLE. And I’ve never been a pumpkin spice girl, just for the record. But I drank all of it. Also, his espresso martinis are delicious. This is a little long but worth the read so please stay with me. Went to Providence Rhode Island for hascon which if you were not aware was hasbro's first convention for just there toy lines. Had a great time in Providence again as I have been here before but my other or as she often reminds me my better half was seeing Providence for the first time. You can't help but to find the city charming and the people lovely with plenty of good places to eat but the highlight of the weekend was going to this restaurant. McCormick & Schmick's seafood was absolutely fantastic. The place has a great atmosphere and is perfect for a nice family meal but the menu might not suit very young kids, a business dinner or a romantic night out which is why I took my sweetie here. She was so sick for our anniversary so this was a redo. Everyone was so nice and friendly. You feel welcomed from the very first moment you step into the front doors. You walk in the front doors and the bartender who is the first person you see if the host or hostess is seating someone makes sure to welcome you and let you know they will be right with you to show to a table. The host who made sure we had a nice table in a cozy little spot since we were celebrating our anniversary to the woman who was prepping oysters at the the raw bar section who stopped to acknowledge us and say hi. Then there was our waitress who's name was Carvel who was absolutely amazing. Friendly and engaging she let's us know about some of the food and drinks they are best known for. She made sure to check on us but not come by every 2 mins which can be disrupting when trying to have a nice romantic dinner. Then there was the food which was one of the best meals we have had in I don't know how long. It's is a little more on the pricey side but not overly expensive especially since the food was so so goooood. Not only was the food amazing but beautifully presented. As we looked around at other tables getting there food and drinks you could see how much pride they took in not only the quality of the food but making sure it was pleasing to the eye as well as the palate. Then towards the end of our meal some of the other waiters and waitresses who heard it was our anniversary came by to say hi and wish us a happy anniversary but made sure not to linger to long as not to disturb our dinner and then the manager who must of overheard us talking about how this was a redo of our anniversary or who was told by our lovely waitress Carvel decided to make us a special anniversary dessert which was just so kind and generous and the perfect end to a perfect night out. If you are ever in Providence Rhode Island do yourself a favor and treat you and your special someone to a night out at this fantastic establishment. You will not regret it. More...
