Simply the best! I was seeking a change and accountability to get in the best shape before my wedding. After getting hurt and frustrated with classes and gym life I was referred to mike. My husband and I started training with him three years ago and we will never stop! I am 38 weeks pregnant now and mike has kept me in shape and I’m still going! Mike cares. He genuinely cares about the success of his clients. He keeps his workouts unique so that I don't get bored, and he challenges me. When I want to throw in the towel, he pushes me through it. He is encouraging. He has taught me about better nutrition. He has taught me about setting goals. What I get out of my sessions is not only good for my health, but translates to successes in other areas of my life. I started training with Mike about 5 weeks ago. My husband's been trying to get me to train for over a year but I was very reluctant. He finally convinced me to try and ever since I started training, I feel stronger, sleep better and feel great afterwards. I've been working out with Mike at MRF for six years. I've done online training, bootcamp, small group training, personal training and he even rehabbed my shoulder after surgery rather than me continuing to go to physical therapy. I started out with physical therapy after surgery but was struggling to regain full range of motion and I know people who've had the same surgery, who went to physical therapy and never regained full range after years of PT. I talked to Mike, told him about my struggles to move that arm and he told me to get in there and see him. It took a couple of months, lots of complaints from me and a lot pushing from him, but I have full use of my shoulder, full ROM and I couldn't be happier about making that decision to trust that Mike absolutely could rehab it for me. Now we're back to working on full body fitness. I've lost 33 pounds and a whole lot of inches in the last year. He absolutely cares 100% about his clients, he will get you the results you're looking for. I will never work out with any other trainer. I am an orthopedic massage therapist and about 3 years ago, Mike Romano and I started to barter services. I have been training with him since then and I've made great improvements! I have a torn rotator cuff so he trains me for the strengthening exercises I need for the surrounding muscle groups. Not only has my shoulder improved, my orthopedist reminded me that it had been 3 years since I had a cortisone shot. I will take natural healing through training any day over medications! Mike knows his stuff and is careful not to push too far to aggravate injury. I appreciate the improvement toward healing as well as the increase in overall strength and endurance. We refer clients to one another and his clients who see me always have positive things to say about his work. Working out with Mike is one of the best decisions I have made in the past few years. I've always considered personal training but never pulled the trigger - worried about high intensity "biggest loser" type coaching with yelling and screaming I see on tv. This year my wife decided to get training and we signed up together. It's been over a month and a half and I feel amazing. First few sessions were spent with Mike trying to analyze where I was physically (not great) and what my goals were. I'm not very tall and I have a naturally small frame, so we decided we would focus on getting fit without increasing too much mass. Even after just a few weeks and I already had friends and family commenting on the definition they see in my muscles and I could start to see my abs coming out in the mirror at night. Mike is patient and knowledgeable, you can tell he knows what he's talking about and has the experience to backup his methods. He also knows when to jump in with words of encouragement to push you over the limits you place on yourself. Overall just a great guy and an amazing trainer. About personal training in general, it's a great feeling to know that you have someone tracking your progress, adjusting for you and making sure you stay on track. All I have to do is show up and do the workouts. It's always so easy to get lazy or give up, but having a trainer really helps keep your commitments. Overall 10/10! Highly recommended. More...

Mike has gotten me into the best shape of my life! I lost 60 pounds 3 years ago and he hasn’t let me put more than 10 pounds back on before putting me on a program to get it back off. Mike is one hell of a trainer. He teaches you, motivates you, and pushes you through every single workout and he gets results. He has a vast amount of knowledge about working out for a huge variety of purposes (different sports, strength, general health, weight loss, etc.) and if you follow his program, you will succeed in whatever your goal is. Hiring Mike as my trainer has been one of the best things I've ever done for myself. He has pushed me to improve, but has also supported me and worked around the permanent injuries I suffered in a car accident. Before hiring Mike, I worried that I would be unable to lose weight and build muscle because so many of the exercises I had done before my accident were no longer physically possible for me. I've been a client of mikes for a little less than 2 years. I started off with the bootcamp and immediately loved it. The regular bootcampers made me feel comfortable and welcomed. The workouts were always different so I never got bored. Mike really gets to know his clients and knows what every one of them is capable of. He'll modify anything if he needs to but always pushes you to do your best. I've recently started his online training and it's awesome. All the online workouts are different and are different for all of his clients based on their goals. I've tried other workout programs but have never had a personal trainer.
