The manager of the office really engages the kids and keeps them responsible for their work. They really give it their all and take pride in their outcomes due to the care that is given to each and every child at Mavin.

My all-time favorite teacher is Mike Carney. What makes him so special is he took a complex subject like biology, and turned it into an adventure, by making it exciting! I remember, I used to ditch all my other high school classes, except his, the attendance office was very suspicious of me when I had ~30 absences for 4th period English, & ~21 for 2nd period computers, but 100% attendance for 6th period Biology LOL! He inspired me beyond belief...my love and passion for science was ignited because he made learning it FUN! I owe him a huge debt of gratitude, for without him I wouldn't have gone on to major in Biology, or be where I am today (having the opportunity to successfully do what I LOVE). Such a valuable experience already for my daughter, who is entering her junior year of high school. I wish I'd had Aaron and Caroline steering me when I was a kid! Helping my daughter to not only identify her goals, but how to get there has been a real growth experience for her and one I am very grateful to Mavin for. Thanks!!! More...
