At Heroes gym, I offer one-on-one personal training sessions as well as small group sessions. I have been passionate about fitness and helping others achieve their fitness goals all my life and have made it my profession since 2015. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing someone accomplish something that they didn’t think was possible.

Matt Ruiz is the BEST coach I have ever had, and I have had a number of coaches over the past 20 years or so. I have known Matt for more than five years, and he has been my personal trainer/coach for the past 21 months.

Matt is a phenomenal athlete as well as personal trainer/coach. He has been training for over 10 years, and has learned from personal experience what works and what does not, and he brings this wealth of knowledge to his athletes.

When I first started training with Matt, we discussed my fitness goals together, and Matt then developed an outstanding detailed program to help me achieve those goals.

Matt's workout programming is truly incredible! All of the workouts are custom-tailored to me specifically. Matt has a knack for picking the perfect combination of weights, rep schemes and time domains for the workouts for me as an individual. This is not generic group programming; it is far better and more effective! During the early part of the pandemic when the gyms were closed, Matt programmed all of my at-home workouts, and I was amazed with what he could do with minimal equipment. One thing that really makes Matt stand out is his creativity and ability to think outside of the box. He has used hundreds of different movements (some of which I had never even heard of) in my workouts. His workouts are never boring; they are always interesting, challenging and fun! I come away energized after doing Matt's workouts!

Since working with Matt, I have gotten stronger and leaner. We worked on handstand push-ups and running during the past year and half, and due to Matt's outstanding programming, I improved more than I thought possible on both.

Most important of all, Matt is a phenomenal person! He cares deeply about all of his athletes, and is thrilled to see them accomplish their goals. He puts their safety first, and focuses on good form above all. He is always excited to see how I do on a workout, and I can't wait to tell Matt how I did (particularly if it is good). Matt is always encouraging me, celebrates my accomplishments, and picks up my spirits when things do not go well. Matt is very dependable, patient, friendly, approachable, down to earth, and fun! He goes out of his way to help everybody, and spend extra time with them. He loves to help others to succeed.

To help my clients achieve their fitness goals I provide them with workouts that are specific to their goals and give them all of the tools they need to succeed. I will be there to instruct, assist, and motivate my clients through every training session.

Dedication and consistency. You have to be willing to put in the work both in the gym, and outside of the gym. That means staying on top of your nutrition, sleep and recovery.

Seeing people achieve their goals and having fun in the process. It is extremely rewarding to see my clients progress throughout their fitness journey and being able to make a positive difference in their lives.

To keep customers safe from Covid-19 we make sure to keep the gym and all equipment sanitized by cleaning after each training session and doing everything we can to protect against the virus.
