Food is killer, so many delicious local beers, our bartender was awesome and the space alone is gorgeous. Stumbled in feeling adventurous on my birthday wanting to try something new and I definitely ended up in the right place. Can't wait to go back.

Awesome craft beer selection from the Albuquerque area. Very good food. Great happy hour specials (five tacos for $8). Our server Karissa was incredibly patient, accommodating, friendly, knowledgeable and extremely informative of all the local craft beers and took the time to explain in great detail what types of beers they served and all the differences of the craft beers. Matanza has a very nice setting in the University Nob Hill district. The decor is clean and inviting with a sofisticated flare. The selection of beers is outstanding and the prices are not too bad. the food has a nice homemade feel to it although some dishes are a little bland. It was a little too easy to get a table for 6 on a Saturday evening. They were less than half full and still the service was somewhat slow. Very nice place, quiet, clean and I had some flatbread chicken stuff that was exceptional and I love that the cooks are within sight, nice watermelon cider very refreshing.

Nice, low-key, comfortable restaurant with a nice selection of craft beers. The food was tasty, but not as memorable as I thought it would be. The waitress was nice enough to let me purchase beer -- even though I did not have my ID with me. I am stumbled into this place by accident, but so glad that I did. I had just driven to Albuquerque looking for someplace to watch the Kentucky Derby and I didn't feel intimidated by going into a bar by myself. I sat myself at the bar in front of the big screen and the bartender was great! He put on the closed captioning, let me order stuff over time and took care of me while watching the Derby. A couple came in complaining about the bad service across the street and we had a great time hanging out while the staff just let us be as entertaining as we wanted to be. More...
