I moved back to Atlanta after 35 years in Puerto Rico. I did not have to fill out a federal tax form while living there, as only Puerto Rican taxes had to be paid. Additionally, I had a Puerto Rican IRA, which is subject to different rules than stateside IRA's. One of those rules is once I moved from PR, I had to cash out the IRA completely and could not roll it over in a US bank. Then there was the new tax law, that added to the confusion of how to handle all of this. Prior to Gary, I had contacted three other CPA's who replied to my request for help to varying degrees, but they never actually did anything. Gary was the only person who said, "Let me research that and get back to you." When he did get back in a couple of days, it was to do my taxes and get a payment for services. I have never been so happy to send a check in my life. I was relieved to know that someone was going to be helping me. For the impatient people, I can summarize my experience with Massey and Company as follows:Knowledgeable: 5 starsResponsiveness: 5 starsAttentive: 5 starsOffice location: 5 starsPrice: 4 starsHere is the reason why i think so. Usually I prepare the taxes by myself, but this year I had some questions and i decided to get help from a CPA. Massey and Company are conveniently located at the Buckhead area, their office is accessible and there is a parking lot and the office receptionist is very friendly.First time I met Gary, i explained my situation, he took some notes, requested my tax related documents and he started working on my return next day. All the questions that I had were clarified and my tax return was completed within few days. Something I really liked is the fact I never submitted any personal document to Massey and Company by email. They have a Secure Portal which is used to exchange all sensitive documents, nothing is kept at the server of any email provider.
