The food is excellent American fare, before I went vegan Ioved their various mac n cheese options. Drinks prices are great and they had a great seasonal white sangria. They have the Beyond burger and if you order it with no cheese and on sourdough, it's vegan (normal is a brioche bun). Friendly staff and it's a fun atmosphere. The only reason for one star off is the bathrooms are pretty gross and it's extremely loud in there. Passing through we were pointed in this direction for lunch. We were welcomed and got to sit in a comfortable setting. The drinks were delicious and fairly priced. The salad was fantastic, as was the mac and cheese. My wife said the chili was a bit sweet but apparently balanced with the provided chips, and the Tijuana fries were alright. The waitress was really kind in packaging and pricing things that made the best deal for us which was nice seeing as we got a bunch of plates and split everything up. I was visiting Roanoake on a training seminar and the instructor kept telling us about this place downtown called Martins. We decided to give it a try. We werent disappointed in the least. They were packed on a Thursday night but luckily, we were seated right away. The beer selection was not only great, they had a good mix of drafts from all around the country plus, our server was very knowledgeable about them. Even though it was Taco night, I HAD to try one of their burgers. I had the "more cowbell" burger which had french fried onions, brisket, and cheese. It was HUGE and very tasty. The fries were awesome as well...they were almost like enormous onion petals but made from potatoes and had spicing similar to fajita fries. Perfectly crispy. I was FULL at the end of my meal and although I didnt try the Glazed Donut dessert, Im sure it was awesome. My only qualm was how loud the music was but to be fair, we were fairly close to the speakers. Cheap burger special and great draft beer. Service is usually pretty good   My only complaint is that the drink specials end before the band goes on, so the place usually clears out before the music starts. Which is a real shame, as I have seen some good bands here. More...

Bourbon Night! First time to eat here! Had the Bourbon BBQ platter for two special. One drank a whiskey on the rocks & the other had a Cali-Bomb. Cali-Bomb was da-bomb-delicious! Cool! The platter special was a LOT of meat!! Ribs were absolutely perfect! Tasty and fall off the bone tender! Bacon-wrapped chicken was very good. I would prefer less mustard on that, but the other person loved it. The pimento cheese is really good. Very glad to have the toasted garlic bread! Baked beans with caramelized onions and peppers were good. Cole slaw thankfully did not taste like horseradish. It was a little bland, but I prefer that over having horseradish in it. It offset the other flavors well. I have not seen spiral thick-cut fries before tonight. We liked how they were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I had expected Martin's to be much higher priced. We took advantage of happy hour and the platter special, but the two of us were full and took leftover food home.
