Whitney had great ideas for my entire space and its use, however there was a stand out change for me. For over a decade, I’d been looking at my drooping bookshelves, bowed and badly designed, posing a challenge that I frankly wasn’t up to. Enter Whitney Marston, designer extraordinaire, and within a matter of days, what most likely would have been put off for another decade, became, instead, a quick, cost effective and stunningly simple and elegant solution. She analyzed my needs, led me through a few design options and voila, the sketch was produced and, even more miraculously, materials ordered and a fine carpenter engaged, who Whitney supervised and supported when issues arose (don’t they always?) The result is that my space is unrecognizable. The finished project harmonizes and at the same time uplifts the rather eclectic décor that reflects my personality. The library wall somehow brings it all together and the installation of lighting in each cubby highlights my book collection as well as art objects that now look fresh and vibrant due to the back lighting. I give this gal a five-star rating and almost wish the project weren’t finished because the experience was full of humor and good sense in equal measure. What’s next?! More...

We hired Marston Studio to decorate our new Brooklyn home and are so happy we did! We finally wanted that thoughtfully decorated home and something more than "we got halfway through this then got tired".
..which happens a lot with 2 kids running around. Well now we have it. Our house is functional and beautiful. It's a mix of classic and conversation pieces.
On the business end, timelines and pricing were always clear. All installation and deliveries were handled by Marston Studios. We were constantly kept up to date.

I cannot recommend Marston Studio enough! They did an amazing job bringing our townhouse to life. As a client I felt that all my needs were heard and met, and the lead designer Whitney took meticulous care to bring our vision to life. We have a toddler so our design needs are specific; kid safe & aesthetically pleasing. Her attention to detail made our lives easier by creating a beautiful, harmonious space we can actually live in. Look no further, this design studio can make your dreams come true and not break the bank! More...

Still in awe at my apartment's transformation and I have Whitney to thank for it. She was a dream to work with; professional yet personable, with a wonderful sense of humor that made for easy & enjoyable communication throughout our project. Whitney was responsive to my very particular needs and performed miracles within my budget, working with her network of artisanal partners to find unique pieces that suited my tastes perfectly (I absolutely love my deco sideboard!). Her impressive knowledge and intuitive aesthetic sensibilities make it clear that Whitney has a passion for her work, and I give her my highest recommendation. More...

We hired Whitney to decorate our space in the mountains. It's a smaller space and kind of a generic box so we knew we needed to hire someone who could get extremely creative and help us build a space that complimented our surrounding views. Whitney knocked it out of the park. She worked with the space we have, budget we had provided, and was able to finish the project in less than the allotted time. We couldn't be happier! She was a delight to work with and we would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an interior designer! 10/10! More...

Whitney was so professional and in tune to exactly what my space needed. Since moving into my new house, I'd been lost on how to adequately design the living room to show not just my personal style, but with a luxurious touch that was right with our budget. Whitney was able to give me exactly that! From the wallpaper suggestions to the vintage coffee table - I am over the moon! I love having friends over in this space. Thank you Whitney!! More...

Whitney is not only wildly creative but a consummate professional. We had so much fun updating our entire house with Whitney.
She made the process simple and streamlined while opening our eyes to a whole world of new opportunities in the house we’ve been in for so long. Her layout options were absolutely life-changing as were her design selections. Our space is one we now love showing off to friends and entertaining, Whitney went as far as to update our dinner and drinkware. Her intuitive sense of style and space was truly impressive. Funny and personable, she made sure we knew what was going on when we wanted to know. She stayed on budget and schedule. We adore her and are in love with her work and our renewed appreciation for our home.
I’m sorry you’re missing Elsa, I know she’s always with you. She loves you so much. Maybe the universe is showing you a path for your future with your finger touching! You’ll have more emotional space every day.

Whitney was a great recommendation to help us design our new apartment. Moving from a tiny one bedroom to a much bigger one bedroom meant extra furniture and new furniture to replace older smaller items that just didn’t fit with our space.
Enter Whitney who listened to exactly the vibe we wanted and sent us the best options that would fit not only our space but our needs. She was very hands on and super easy to work with , cannot recommend her enough. Can’t wait to move again to be able to use Whitney for our next place!

What's it like working with Whitney and Marston Studio? In a word: life changing. It literally changed my life, because my home was completely transformed into the home I always wanted, which has made a huge difference in my life!
It's incredible to spend my time in such a beautifully considered space—an instant and lasting mood booster.
I always considered myself to be somewhat stylish, but there's a huge difference between what I could pull off and the utter magic that Whitney worked - I never thought my home could be this gorgeous!
Marston Studio creatively combined pieces and accents—incorporating exquisite Moroccan textiles, classic American antiques, cherished keepsakes, and perfectly picked modern furnishings and art pieces—to make something I could have never come up with in a million years but which felt 100% like me.
Whitney didn't impose her own "style" on me, but listened to my ideas then applied her skills to realize what I couldn't exactly articulate. She was an artist, working with color, texture, and material to bring my dream space to life. Whitney pushes boundaries in design, but I never felt pushed into something I didn't want, in fact, in pushing boundaries, she led me to ideas that felt just so right.
Whitney and Marston Studio are incredibly professional. She makes a point of being clear about what is happening, what's coming next, and presents ideas in a way that it's easy to visualize her intention, which takes so much stress out of the process and decision making. You know the entire time you are in the hands of an expert!
I can't say enough about Whitney. In fact, I stop right now so you can get on to booking her immediately!

What do you love most about your job?
My passion is helping others to enjoy their life. It is such an honor to design a space specifically for a person's tastes and needs to elevate their day-to-day. I love creative problem solving, learning about my clients, making their dreams come true, and having fun along the way. It's a wonderful thing to be able to create a stress free environment that produces a gorgeous, life-enriching space.
What inspired you to start your own business?
After many years of high-stress creative, marketing, and operations consulting for business, I was asked to design a friend's new condo based on my personal style and professionalism. What she didn't know is that I am the daughter of a painter and designer, went to school for fine art, and graduated from UCLA with an Art History degree. I had been doing this job for fun, friends, and clients for years and had never considered it a full time career. The joy that it brings me and the folks for which I am designing is unparalleled. I wake up excited to work every day, and that is the absolute dream.
Why should our clients choose you?
In two words: our professionalism and our partners
After many years in the creative and operations consulting space, I have honed all of the necessary skills to run a well-oiled business that keeps every detail noted, all projects within budget, and on time. I am classically trained in making and critiquing art and have been in the design and creative problem-solving space for over two decades.
Marston Studio has a network of partners locally and globally to make sure you get one of a kind items, and stress free installs. We work with carpet makers in Morocco, light designers in NYC, and ikat weavers in Turkey among hundreds. Our projects are always seamless with local and vetted construction partners too!
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
Services can be in person or remote! The magic of the internet allows us to make, plan, and share layouts, designs, and finishes! (I'll just need a couple measurements)
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I am happy to mask, wear gloves, and sanitize to the level of the client's comfort.
