Finally! A good old fashioned deli for a solid breakfast sandwich. There is plenty of room and it is really nicely and modernly decorated to boot! I had a really soft and yummy everything bagel with REAL egg, cheese and avocado. Good strong and fresh coffee. I am a native New Yorker and this place does a good bagel sandwich with egg!Everything looks homemade in here and I can't wait to come back to try lunch. Fresh Roast turkey is so good. I like to order my sandwiches a certain way and they have no problem making what I ask for. Ive gone to other deli's and they just won't do it for me. They have a great online ordering menu as well. Friendly staff and lots Of seating. The bread is always fresh, I love the sourdough rolls and the Dutch crunch. I tried a chef salad as well and instead of using deli turkey I asked for the roasted turkey and added avocado and it was just what I was craving on that day. They will customize anything. They also have really good soups, the turkey rice is delish. I've gone on days where they have had homemade enchiladas with rice. There is nothing this deli can't do. Wow this place is fantastic. This place is a deli; not just a caterer. It doesn't show up when you do a yelp search for deli in san carlos so it is impossible to find via Yelp Search. I just had the best freshly roasted turkey sandwich in my life for breakfast. When you walk in there is the smell of fresh roasting turkey. This place is incredibly hard to find. Very small sign. Doesn't show up on a Yelp search for lunch places or sandwich or soup or salad. All the menu items I think they excel at.  They roast a turkey every morning. My sandwich was made with fresh warm french bread and roasted turkey. Mayonaise perfectly complemented the turkey; didn't taste dry. When fresh and warm the meat is juicy. Once it gets cold the moisture has evaporated. Favorite breakfast place on the planet. Morning sun great on a cold frosty winter day. They can customize any combo of eggs/potato/toast etc.. you like. They also make fresh salads daily. Home cooking Where can you find this? Not a corporate entity like Whole foods or a commercial sandwich chain. Breakfasts not commercialized like Denny's/McDonalds where they focus on profit and higher margin items like pancakes/hashbrowns. When eggs were cheap this was a great deal. Eggs now more expensive b/c of CA law... so they import their eggs from elsewhere.... Low rent so the prices for food are very good. Turkey is not from a salty processed sliced preformed loaf. The problem with the standard deli meat is they add salt to keep it from going rancid but they can also use much lower grade meat and they add turkey flavoring to make it taste like turkey. You have no idea what you are eating. Nasty stuff. Turkey rice soup made from the freshly roasted turkey. Can never get turkey soup bc nobody cooks anymore. Fresh tritip. More...

Best turkey sandwich on the Peninsula (the Thanksgiving one)! It comes with dressing (which I generally don't like), but theirs is delish! I can't speak to the other sandwiches because I always get the turkey one, but the side salads and dessert bars are good too. My only complaint - I try to eat vegetarian as much as possible, and Marsha's lunch box is making it tougher! More...

Had Marsha's make a large fruit salad for my daughter's 3rd birthday. The price was reasonable, they were super easy to work with and the fruit was really fresh. What a great little find for lunch! Within walking distance from my job, I moseyed on over through the local neighborhood to get here. After recently visiting New York for the first time, I simply had to try their Brooklyn sandwich.While no Carnegie, it was everything I could have asked for: roast beef, bacon and cheddar with horseradish dressing. At this place they've definitely perfected how to make a great sandwich and conduct great customer service. I love how they always have the paper to read too. Last time I came in I had the "Always Thanksgiving" {Turkey with stuffing and cranberries on sliced french} MMM it was really good . The turkey was obviously fresh. I got the "Thanksgiving Dinner" lunch plate, turkey, stuffing, veggies and cranberry sauce.  (we got it delivered via company "Eat Club", myeatclub. com)It was really good.  I don't what options you have if you're there in person, but the takeout had white meat turkey (which I like) very moist.  No gravy, but it didn't need it (don't know if it's an option in person).  No mashed potatoes but lots of moist stuffing (might be a tiny bit salty for some) More...

I've only been here once, getting in the door about 5 minutes before closing.  They were all out of turkey at that point, which I don't mind because that means they really are cooking the turkey fresh daily.  I ordered chicken salad instead.  I long ago lowered my standards for deli fare so that I wouldn't always be disappointed (why can't the west coast figure out how to make a decent sandwich without charging $8 - $10 for processed meat?).  However, I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the sandwich from Marsha's. The bread was fresh, and the chicken salad well seasoned.  Service was fast & friendly, too, and I got out the door for under $7.Not sure I'll make the trip regularly since Flaming Dogs is walking distance from the office and I'm lazy like that, but next time I have to take my car to/from the shop, I'll plan to stop here to pick up lunch. The first time I've tasted Marsha's Lunchbox foods was when I first started working as a Administrative Assistant down the street (6-7 blocks) from this place. We had them did our breakfast and lunch catering everyday. Sometimes on the weekend. 6 months later, I finally have my favorite: their homemade croutons, macaroni salad, italian roasted chicken and cranberry nut salad =]After I had tasted and seen most of what the food on the catering menu looked like, the company gradually gave me the task of ordering food for breakfast and lunch. I'm thankful for this task because I felt having to work with the menu, people and calling the deli numerous of times made me a little closer and connected with Marsha's staff.In the morning, we would rotate from eggs, pancakes, french toast, bacon, sausages, chicken apple sausages (special), croissants, biscuits, fruit salad, bagels, and pastries. For lunch, our staff have loved the rotating favorites: bbq chicken, lasagna, tri-tip, kabobs, ribs, sandwiches, grilled salmon (my favorite), mash potatoes and gravy, rice pilaf (my favorite), red roasted potatoes (my favorite), chinese chicken salad, spinach prawn salad (my favorite) and mixed nut salad.We had to do a lot of cutbacks at our company so we no longer have them cater our lunch 5 days a week. But due to the fact they have been catering for us for years (before I started working here) and that our Founder loves them, we still have them cater for us 2-3 days out of the week. I love what they offer and pretty much caters to our needs. I haven't had the pleasure to get breakfast or lunch by visiting the deli but I would eventually would like to.As for the staff, awesome people. So far I've met Laverne (don't think that's how you spell her name), Kristin, Rene, Kasey and two other gentlemen (but I don't remember their name). If these people reflect the personality for everyone else that works there... then that's a family I would love to be a part of. They always greet you with a smile (makes you want to hug them the next time you see them), personable personalities (makes you want to take them out for a few margaritas and have a good laugh) and excellent service (do what they can to cater to your wants/needs in terms of food). Now that was a tasty turkey sandwich! The provolone cheese was actually provolone with a little bite to it!   (And not some sort of Cosco-nothing-flavored nonsense. )  I liked the wheat bread, I got a perfect sandwich with a ton of mustard and peppers slathered on there and some italian dressing. I recently hosted a business meeting in San Carlos and needed someplace to cater lunch from for our group of 25 people.  It was easy to order and the food was fresh and delicious.  They delivered for free and there was more than enough food (I ordered for 25 people, charged per head) and we had quite a bit leftover.  We did the lunch deal with sandwiches, two salads and a tray of desserts.  We already had drinks so they knocked off like $.50 per person because we didn't need drinks.  The only bummer was that they forgot the veggie sandwiches and came back with them about 20 minutes after people had already started to eat.  So they were wasted, unfortunately.  The second bummer is that they don't use disposable trays so I had to drop off the trays (which I had to wash or let it sit in my car dirty for the wekend) the following Monday.  It was a bit inconvenient and something they failed to tell me.  Lugging home 5+ large dirty trays & washing them was not fun.But the food was delicious and well received by our business group.  I would not hesitate to order again.  And would next time arrange for them to come back and pick up the trays after lunch. Marsha's is amazing, there is no other way to state it. The employees are all super friendly, and they get your sandwich made extremely fast. Their original roasted turkey is to die for and do not even get me started with the meat balls. I have one word to describe the meat balls, mmmmmmmmmmm!!!! They are delicious. Marsha's also has a vast collection of creative custom sandwiches. They also have the best homemade cookies that I would definitely recommend you pick up with a tasty sandwich and Ice cold beverage. During the summer they bbq a couple times a week so if you have stressful job there is nothing like running over to Marsha's on your lunch break, getting a fresh off the grill tri-tip and chasing that down with an ice cold brew that Marsha's offers. I would not suggest taking a date here however, because last time I was in there during lunch every girl that walked in to the delicatessen kept flirting with the athletic looking young man behind the counter(I think his name was Michael). I came across Marsha's Lunchbox when I was driving to Office Depot one day. They have a cute little red and green sign outside that definitely caught my attention. Since that fateful day, I have been to Marsha's Lunchbox half a dozen times, always bringing different people with me to share with them the goodness that is the turkey and stuffing w/ cranberry sandwich. This is what I always get because you can never have too much Thanksgiving! Personally, I like it on sliced sourdough. I once had a friend who ordered it on Dutch Crunch and remarked that the bread to filling ratio wasn't as good (I made him try mine to compare).As others have said, it's very clean and pleasant to sit down and eat in. They have a huge variety of potato chips (local and national brands), which is great for those who need that kind of thing. And after reading the Yelp review about her catering, I may just have to try that sometime too!The only complaint I have is that parking is difficult on a crowded day. Yet another fantastic catered party done by Marsha's Lunchbox!  We have used this deli for all our home parties, usually 50-100 people, and they have always done an exceptional job!  The food is excellent and all home made.  The staff is always efficient, fun and very friendly.  The prices are so reasonable.  We just had an all appetizer party last weekend (very hearty and delicious)!  In the past we have had dinner buffets that have been wonderful.  You must try her tri-tip, unbelievable flavor!  I simply cannot say enough about them.  Never have to worry about a thing because they do it all, trust me! I went to Marsha's for the 1st time last saturday (they are open m-sat)and enjoyed one of the best sandwichs ever. The girl behind the counter was helpful and fast. I was surprised to find they took visa and mastercard. Although it took me a while to order as Marsha's boast a great menu of homemade salads, soups, sweets, speciatly sandwichs and its signature fresh oven roasted turkey sandwhich. I had a great cranberry, stuffing, and oven roasted turkey sandwich. Stuffing was amazing and the turkey was moist and made you think of day after thanksgiving sandwich. So Good!
