My husband loves this establishment for lunch. They have half off appetizers and drinks at the bar all day. He really loves the garlic knots. I prefer the knots without garlic, it's a little too garlicky for me but I can see how someone who loves garlic would absolutely love them . They are definitely light and fluffy until the traditional knot which is heavy and dense. I had the beet and goat cheese salad which isn't an item on half off menu, it was nice. My husband had the wings and clams and very much enjoyed it. I believe he also really likes the meat balls. The establishment can get crowded at the bar during lunchtime. We also had dinner at this location another evening. He had the orecchiette and broccoli rabe I had the penne and broccoli. He very much enjoyed his meal, mine was nothing special the chicken was a bit tough but luckily I don't eat meat. My husband had a piece and that was his assessment. I would love to see them add a few more vegatetarian options. My husband will definitely return for lunch. More...

I've been wanting to go here forever. The restaurant has a gorgeously contemporary style set up within. A bit loud but lively atmosphere. We went with a big group here so I tried a ton of things.Apps: Pasta e fagioli soup- It was good but needed a bit more flavor. Caesar salad- not that great, dry romaine lettuce. Shrimp scampi bruschetta- scrumptious appetizer. Calamari fra diavolo- Great kick/heat to this dish. Main course- I ordered lobster tail and shrimp. It came with risotto but I wanted pasta instead. They made a side order of penne pasta with Alfredo sauce. The pasta part was just ok. The seafood was great in taste and perfectly cooked. Okay I'm going to start this out by saying Mario's Osteria is so under rated it's sad. This place is BEYOND AMAZING. The fact that maggianos little Italy FROZEN meals has more ratings than this makes me question their taste buds. I am from NY and probably THE pickiest Italian food connoisseur there is. My boyfriend and I were about to run some errands and grab groceries at Whole Foods and I hadn't taken a lunch so I was famished and figured we'd stop for a bite at Mario's. BEST DECISION EVER, I now have a new FAVORITE restaurant in boca. The garlic rolls are superb, the arancini, the wine selection, and I ordered the gnocchi a la vodka w sweet Italian sausage and it's one of the only times I've devoured my left overs the next day. My boyfriend had the pasta and sweet peas w pancetta and that was incredible also. Will absolutely be returning... probably more than I should. Everyone needs to try this place !!! 10/10. More...

Usually good. Arrived after 8. Many booths available. The hostess said that we couldn't have a booth because she had larger parties coming. After 10 minutes she sat 2 people in a booth. There were several more unoccupied. We always come later so we can relax in a booth. The table was fine but not the same. I'm sure it was a busy Sunday because it was the first day of Hanukkah but the food suffered also. The Sunday gravy was watery and the pasta with seafood was over cooked after asking for it to be cooked al dente. The server was sweet and attentive. The larger parties never materialized! We usually enjoy coming to Mario's and have brought friends many times. Tonight we were disappointed 10/17/19Update. We returned for the season after a lovely summer on Long Island. Decided to give Mario's another try. Our server Jamie remembered us from previous visits and made us feel very welcome. Her recommendation of the veal chop special was perfect for me. Hubby ordered his usual Sunday gravy and was very happy. The sauce wasn't watery and the pasta was al dente. My veal chop was a masterpiece! A great place for happy hour! All drinks are half price from 11:30 AM until 6:00 PM! The appetizer menu is pretty extensive and all items except for a few exceptions are half price. We came with a group of six and shared the appetizers family style. It was perfect! We got to sample from fried zucchini, meatballs, shrimp scampi, fried calamari and spicy peppers. All were excellent. The best part however, was the garlic rolls that came with our food. The only downside was that there wasn't enough seating for happy hour. We couldn't sit in the main part of the restaurant. Seating was only in the bar areas, inside and out. It was hard at first to get seating for our whole group. But, after waiting for about five minutes, another big group left and we were able to sit together. We sat outside and despite the Florida heat, we were very comfortable. We've been coming to Mario's since 1989 and it NEVER disappoints. The scarpiello is one of a kind, the thin crispy crust pizza is very good as is the baked ziti with meat sauce. Do not leave without sampling the garlic rolls and ask for a side of marinara to dip it in. June 22 yet another flawless meal consisting of chicken scarpiello and baked spaghetti bolongnese . Very nice greeting, great decor, and good service. Our server Travis was excellent. The garlic rolls are fantastic.We ordered the zucchini fritte which was served with marinara sauce which is very good however masked the taste of the fritte. We asked for a ramekin of the sauce they dip the garlic bread in and it elevated the dish into the stratosphere. My Wife's dish the lamb was superb.My fra diavolo was real nice the garlic was slightly burnt and perhaps more sauce than needed. It was actually spicy which is a refreshing change. All in all a very nice meal. With great service.The big disappointment of the night was the tiramisu. It was very flavorful however the texture was like mush. They don't do linguine . The kitchen service was very pokey bordering on how long have we been here. Mario's just nudges out of the 5 star range as I see it as a 4.5. Delicious food and great service. My only complaint was the fact that the staff (not our waitress) made it abundantly clear that they wanted us to leave - one waitress even went as far as to cough, give our group the stink eye, shut the lights in the restaurant off and roll her eyes at us for a solid 5 minutes. 11:00pm on a Saturday night and you’re throwing your customers out of your restaurant? Not a bad spot to check out if you're craving pasta. They have a nice selection of different food items. It's a nice ambience and offers inside & outside seating. The only thing I was disappointed with was with the rice balls. I'm used to getting the large and tasty ones and these were TINY! At first we thought maybe it was fried mozzarella. But they are tiny rice balls and I just wasn't impressed. Flavor was OK. Not blown away. Everything else, however, was good!
