Impressed with this small-town local business. Exceptionally well-made baked goods that are not overly sweetened. As is appropriated, the cakes/"bases" of the baked items are not overly sweet & the accompanying icing or filling is sweetened. This creates a well-balanced baked good. Been to Marilyn's before. We had them do our Anniversary Cake a couple of years ago for our camping chapter. Went this time since our daughter Dawn Haskell said that their donuts were as good if not better than County Line Orchards. Well, I might go with as good as but probably not better than! We did find out that they do produce sugar free pies in about 3 or 4 different flavors. We did purchase an apple (no sugar added) pie which will probably be devoured today. All in all, MArilyns is a good place to go to satisfy your sugar cravings. LOL More...

Literally just finished my first sliver of peach pie I picked up at the Chesterton's European Market today in Chesterton, Indiana. Having just moved here from Schaumburg, Illinois and being spoiled with great food my entire life, I have been on the fence about Indiana's dining and bakery options but boy oh boy, how I was wrong to question the great state of Indiana.
