Great place to enjoy great Theater Productions. I've been to a couple of shows and both were excellent and professional. Go, you will not regret.

I don't usually go to plays but I went this night for a special occasion. The place is small but cozy and enough seating to make it feel just right. The show was called, "Disenchanted" and it was told from the Disney princesses that we all know and love. However, there was a twist and it couldn't have been more funnier. Each princess singing their side of the story and sharing how they pretty much aren't how the movies made them out to be. Each one also having a personality to remember (my fav was Cinderella and Rapunzel) I really enjoyed the show but my 13 yr old sister came with me and although the program was rated PG13, there were some songs I wasn't sure I was comfortable with her listening to. (Maybe it's acceptable for kids her age now)  Snacks and beverages, including beer and wine, were offered for a great price! Everything is funded by donations and sponsored so donate if you can! Overall the performance was great and I now have a new appreciation for theater as an art. More...

Although this was quite a commute from my home, it turned out to be worrh the drive. This is a quaint theater in the heart of the square. I believe the capacity is 300  seats. The acoustics are amazing. Tonight we came out to see Aretha Franklin... Portrait of a Queen starring CC Teneal.  Newly renovated theater in Marietta Square. They serve light refreshments which are very affordable. Tonight's performance is great  the bass player is extremely talented. The songtress has an excellent voice...but no one compares to Aretha! I'd prefer to put my Theatre in your Circle, but since that's out, this will have to do.TITS (yes, I mean, think about it) is gorgeous and old looking, but shiny new theatre, in Marietta. It feels old, anyway. They have all kinds of cool stuff being shown and performed here, and even though their prices are not cheap, it is definitely a great addition to a lovely little - rich - community. The whole "family friendly, filth free" thing makes me roll my eyes, though, really. More...

Saw The Gift Of The Maji 2.0  Friday night.  Excellent!  Well worth the admission ticket.Box office and ticket collector were nice enough, but the cast and stage hands are extra friendly and courteous.  They appreciate your support and let you know it.  The acting was stellar, absolutely superb.  I particularly appreciate the fact they put on performances which are filth-free, meaning no cussing or other material not suited for family viewing.  These young people once again put their hearts into acting, and you can see it is a passion with them.  Marietta's New Theater On The Square brings yet another class act to the square.Hint: What I do is go to the theater web site to see how rapidly a particular show is filling up.  If it still has many seats open a few hours prior to show time, then just go into town and buy your tickets at the box office, thus avoiding the on-line handling fees.Parking:  Since I wrote my last review, our revenue-hungry politicians have proposed starting to charge for evening and weekend use of the public parking decks, so that will eliminate that free parking option.  Parking on the square and the small lot adjacent to Marietta Parkway is at a premium and will get worse this month, with the opening of the skating rink on the square.  AND, as always, Do Not park at the Starbucks, or it will cost you $75 to remove the boot.  Oh, and most any dress is acceptable.  People dress in suits, cocktail dresses and heels, or they go completely casual in jeans and sneakers.  Peggy goofed though, I wore jeans and sandals to show off my fresh pedicure, and that was a mistake, because my tootsies froze.  Yes, I know, vanity is my weakness, when it comes to girly stuff. We saw La Gringa on a Friday - the play itself was very good, but the theater was a great facility. Not a bad seat in the house, the acoustics were perfect. If you go on a Friday or Saturday, allow yourself plenty of time to figure out parking. The theater is right off the Marietta Town Square and they have events there in the regular, so you need time to navigate traffic and find parking. More...

So excited that this Marietta tradition is back and showing such a great line up of productions this year.  Big River in June, 9 to 5 the Musical in July, Hamlet in Sept and more. The space still retains its former charm as a theater but has fresh blood and excitement within the theater. More...
