I definitely don’t recommend this place. My dog learned nothing. The promise videos and updates every day which doesn’t happen. And follow ups which they won’t even return calls for. Save your 3500 for good trainers More...

My wife and I wanted to express our gratitude and appreciation to Jocelynn for Training our American Bully Raya. Raya was little over 14 weeks old when she started her 18 day Split Board & Train program. Her physical growth has only been surpassed by how much she has learned and behaves so much better. The tools that Marcum K9 Obedience has given us has made Raya a true companion…….even as she grows through her wild puppyhood. Although Raya is very smart she is also very stubborn. We would not be able to handle her strength and energy without the training and assistance from Jo and the Marcum K9 team. We look forward to attending the upcoming Social Event. Thank you again to Jo and to everyone at Marcum K9 Obedience. More...

Everyone at Marcum did an amazing job with my dog! Before I signed him up for anything, I did the consultation with Allison and the trainer and they explained everything they would do, how they would do it and why they would do it. This made me feel good about leaving my dog with them. I did the 15 day board and train and got picture updates everyday. My dog came back with some automatic commands that have been super helpful (sitting before opening a door and while I’m closing it) and I can’t thank them enough for all they did! More...

We are so impressed with the training this team has done with our puppy. We have noticed such a change in our dog and we still have one more session with them. Truly worth every $$$. They are on top of everything, they gave us recommendations for materials, supplements, and food. We also love getting daily updates with pictures when she is in their care! We cannot say anything negative about Marcum K9 and we are truly thankful for all that they did for our dog. More...

My 2 1/2 year old yellow lab Sugar just needed some manners and general obedience. Sierra Trimble was her trainer for the 14 day train and board. I’m older and I should have done this training earlier. Sierra is very professional and did a fantastic job with my stubborn little girl. Now we can go on walks without her pulling me around. She waits at the door without trying to run out. Definitely worth the investment. Highly recommend Marcum K9. More...

I first contacted Marcum K9 Obedience when I started noticing some dominant behaviors from my 6 month old mastiff puppy, Ollie. I two mastiff pups (sisters actually) and Ollie has always been bigger and a little more dominant than the other. She also happened to be the most stubborn of the two, so training at home was just not enough. She would never listen, had poop accidents in the car on car rides, counter surfed in the kitchen, asserted her dominance with the other pup, wouldn’t walk on a leash, dug tunnels in the back yard, constantly eating rocks and mud and anything else she could get her mouth on, jumped on visitors, had no idea what the word “no” meant…all in all she was a hot mess. We did the 10 day board and train and the results were amazing! She came home calmer, more obedient, always looking to please instead of looking for trouble, no dominance towards the other dog, followed basic commands, easily redirected, no digging, no chewing, no eating things she shouldn’t…the difference was unreal. We continue to do “homework” and work with the commands taught during her stay on a daily basis. Although I have her wear her training collar, she is responding to my words more so than the collar and I find that I’m not having to use it except in high stimulus situations. Ollie did so well, that within 3 days of her being home…I scheduled her sister Sadie for training. This training has been worth every penny. The staff is great and the trainer, Sierra, did a great job. I received daily updates with pictures and support once I brought Ollie home. I highly recommend this program to anyone in need of assistance with training their pup. It’s awesome. More...

We took our two Australian Shepherds (Gracie 1 year, Red 10 months) to Marcum in hopes of just teaching them some house manners. Gracie and Red were outside all summer and did not know how to act when people came over or when they were let inside. The jumping was their worst quality. Gracie and Red did the 5 day training course and came back new dogs. I was at my wits end with them jumping on us and the kids and now it almost never happens. Not only is the jumping corrected we can have them in the house now and enjoy them more than ever. The kids no longer worry about getting knocked down and I trust them around our baby nieces and nephews. Marcum saved our relationship with our dogs. We are expecting a new baby in March and I am no longer scared about if they will accidentally hurt someone. They by no means were bad dogs. Just really excited and friendly. Gracie and Red can stay inside when we have company over and I trust them to be inside with us all day long. Their training also made grooming a lot less of a hassle, both bathing and daily brushing is something both the dogs and us (including our toddlers) enjoy now. They came back from their training so well behaved. They listen to commands and follow through with them. We couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. Thank you guys so much! I would like to also add that the communication between the trainers and us while Gracie and Red were there was outstanding. The daily updates were so nice to look forward to. More...

We took our 4 month old Aussie/lab puppy to Marcum K9 and it was the best money we’ve ever spent. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Jourdan was fantastic, we could tell she LOVES our dog and loves what she does. Her passion shines through. She texted us every single day, sent pictures and video updates. What they did with our YOUNG, mouthy, stubborn puppy was nothing short of amazing. We did the 15 day split board and train. Grace is 9 months old now and we literally get compliments on her manners daily. We can go into a crowded public area and give Grace commands and she doesn’t even bat an eye at other people/dogs. She follows commands seamlessly. We have been extremely consistent and followed all guidelines from Jourdan, and Grace continues to impress us. We highly recommend Marcum K9 and will always be thankful for Jourdan and the Marcum team. More...

We had Mavis in the 15 day board and train and she is now a dog who has confidence, obedience, playfullness and we can trust her. Our trainer Garrett Dugger was absolutely fantastic with training us as well. I cannot praise the Marcum K 9 team enough. I don't know what magic they worked but she is a dog that I can now place in any situation and I know she will listen. She does not react to wildlife, no pulling on the leash with walks, sits at doorways before going in or out, rides in the car easily, and has received huge praise from other dog walkers when their dogs are being reactive and she does not flinch. This training was worth every penny AND MORE! On our final training she was so excited to see Garrett and he was equally delighted to see her. His daily videos of their training sessions were the highlight of our days as we missed her tremendously but knew it was well worth it. I wish everyone could have their dogs trained by Marcum K 9. THEY ARE AMAZING! I can have her off leash anytime and she will come when called without hesitation. She knows what we want and is happy to please us. My 91 year old parents adore her and cannot get over how well behaved and gentle she is for only being 1 year old. We've had her now for 2 months as she was a rescue. And I strongly recommend anyone with a rescue dog to have them professionally trained. This enriched our lives and our dog's life immensely! Thank you again Garrett Dugger and the Marcum K 9 team. You are all AMAZING! More...

Quinn is a 2 year old sheepadoodle. We were having issues at home with resource guarding and food aggression with our other dog. Garrett was confident and wanted to approach her issues head on, but in a safe way for everyone. Her progress has been unbelievable. I am able to have her off leash outside within less than a week of being home. I have seen no signs of food aggression or resource guarding from her. Garrett took it a step further to teach me what to do in case she would start to show these behaviors again at home. He even somehow managed to help her stop throwing up every time I take her in the car. The whole process has really bonded Quinn and I in so many ways. I loved to see how she bonded with Garrett as well, she was very happy to see him at our follow up and I could tell he was happy to see her too! I genuinely can’t begin to thank Garrett enough for all he has done. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! I’m very thankful I came across Marcum k9. More...

The results have been amazing and I love sharing with people I come across about MarcumK9. The fact that I have a 6 month old GSD that can go out in public and pretty much be off leash with little to no issues blows alot of minds including mine. The impulse control they have built into him is incredible. Thank you to the team for your caring and professional approach to your craft. Jason Cox and Chepe More...

His trainer, Jourdan, has been absolutely AMAZING! She sent pictures, videos, and updates every single day. No pet owner wants to feel the embarrassment of a dog snapping, barking or even biting in public. Help your dog deal with excitement and emotions in a way that works. Aggression doesn’t mean you have a violent dog, most of the time they just need a little help.
Let our expert trainers with years of aggressive dog training experience help get your furry friend under control.

Your dog will be trained at our in-house training facility in central Ohio while facing everyday distractions.
We’ve all seen dogs in movies that are incredibly talented and smart. Or gorgeous, well-behaved show dogs that strut and sit on command. And what about the brave police and military dogs that help keep everyone safe? These pups all have one thing in common: they’re all professionally trained.
So how do you teach your dog to behave, perform and comprehend commands? It’s all about consistency and repetition, and the phrase, “Practice Makes Perfect!” applies to dogs as much as it does to human beings.
It takes between 30 to 60 repetitions for a dog to grasp the concept of behavior for reward. Once we establish this baseline, we gradually increase distractions, difficulties, and timing, until your dog learns to maintain focus on any task at hand.
When you sign your dog up for one of our Board and Train programs, Marcum K9 Obedience experts will work around the clock on repetitive conditioning at our in-house training facility in Canal Winchester, Ohio. Your dog will encounter repeated scenarios that teach discipline and obedience, no matter the activity, distraction, or command.

Our fun, treat-based professional program will help your puppy discover their love of working with you.
Ready or not, puppy training begins as soon as you bring your new puppy home. Our program helps you and your dog establish a firm foundation for raising a well-behaved member of the family.
When training a puppy, it is crucial to start early. Dogs begin to form their own attitudes between the ages of 8 and 14 weeks, and behaviors learned during this period can last a lifetime. Our professional trainers have years of experience helping local dog owners with their puppies. Not only do we train them from the beginning, but we are also here as a lifelong support system to help with any behavioral changes down the road.

Service dogs are trained to help anyone with a disability, including physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental impairments.
These service dogs are not only a man’s best friend, they can be crucial to improving your daily lifestyle. When trained, service dogs are incredibly aware of their surroundings, keeping you or a loved one safe and living your best life.
Marcum K9 does not breed or sell service dogs, instead we train your dog both in your own home and in our own training facility. By choosing to train your own dog, we get straight to work to build upon the bond that already exists and teach your dog to observe and react to your body language and commands.
We individually customize the service dog training program specifically to your needs. Our goal is to improve the lines of communication between you and your dog, catered to manage your disability.
