I've tried many salons across LA ranging in price from $150-$600 and wasn't impressed with the value or time spent in the chair. (I'm blonde for reference) I have been to Mane Fixation twice now and I have finally found my home base. Its close by, relaxing atmosphere, great value, and employs professional colorists/stylists. Such a cute salon and the decor is amazing! Boho chic meets healing energy! Now for the best part of my experience, my hairdresser. Lizette did such an amazing job on my hair. I came in with barely an idea and come woot with the most stunning cut and color! I have been going here for years, and Cinthia has been my go to - she always does an amazing job on my hair (cuts, balayage, toner/glaze, etc) and has a great bubbly personality. Love her so much! But I recently needed an urgent makeover for an audition/interview and went to Lizette. She went above an beyond and stayed with me for over 4 hours well into the night to get my balayage and cut just perfect. I couldn't recommend them both and the salon highly enough. More...

First time cut & style here and after research for a stylist who knows short hair, booked with Lizette. I've just washed and restyled my hair for the first time, because truthfully, that's the true test of a cut and let me say she did amazing! I had my first appointment today. I have never colored my hair before and have to keep a "professional" look based on my employment. I spoke to Amanda about this and she did an amazing job! Not only was she patient with the pictures I sent her leading up to our appointment, but she did an AMAZING and  BEAUTIFUL job in color and cut. First time coming here and, wow, what an amazing experience! First of all, booking an appointment was a breeze online. I booked with Lizette who has phenomenal reviews and it quickly became apparent why! I have nothing bad to say about my experience whatsoever. The salon is adorable, clean, and super easy to find. Lizette is freaking amazing and the sweetest person ever--makes you feel super comfortable right away! I had a pretty major haircut (like 10+ inches) and was nervous to completely change it up, but Lizette was reassuring, she listened to what I was looking for, made suggestions, and ultimately slayed. Vanessa crushed it with my hair. I came in with an inch of roots and just fed up with how high maintenance a bleach out was and instead of going darker she made the great suggestion of highlights and a shadow root instead and it turned out AMAZING. My my my. Brenda you always hook my mane up so well. This one blew it out of the park. Guys check her out! Went in last week wanting to lift my color higher to the gods and give some dimension with some cool colors. Green blue and some purple. This review is for a balayage and cut with Brenda!After having a bad Groupon experience at another salon in Beverly Hills with a balayage, I was nervous to again go somewhere new. I had been following Brenda on Instagram and seeing her work and decided to give it a shot. And I am SO happy I did! My trim and color came to about $225 which was actually less than I paid for the Groupon experience. Brenda walked me through every step and explained what she was doing while also giving some advice on the best products for my hair. Super happy with my blonde balayage and haircut with Kristen!!I went here because the reviews were great and the prices were fantastic compared to most of the stores in downtown LA. I had to drive about 30 min but it was worth it. My hair had been previously dyed, so I was a little worried that bleaching it would damage it a lot or cause weird color problems, but it looks and feels fantastic. I showed Kristen a picture of what I wanted and told her about my "hair history" and she helped me work out a plan to get the result I wanted. The service took about 3 hours and cost about $250. This salon also plays great music, serves coffee and tea, and overall has a relaxed atmosphere. They also didn't pressure me to buy any of their hair products, which I appreciate. Brenda did an absolutely AMAZING job with my balayage!! She really listened to what I want to go for and gave honest feedback regarding how long a session might take, how much it'd be, how feasible a look is and how many sessions might be needed, etc. I left looking like a rockstar and with my hair looking better than I ever imagined it could. Brenda did such a great job and was an absolute sweetheart!!Parking is a little tricky at the salon in that it's street parking, so keep that in mind if you plan on being there a while; but all the girls were so sweet, and Brenda was so helpful and ran out to put time on my meter for me every two hours. Had a cut and balayage done by Lizette just before the holidays. I absolutely love the way my hair turned out and will be back soon to have my hair touched up. Lizette was really nice and extremely knowledgeable, I have very thin hair and she gave me a great cut that makes hair look fuller than it is. I went in a few weeks before a trip to Europe so she made hair a bit darker so that by the time I was on my trip it would fade to the color I wanted. I loved the way it looked in the salon and especially loved the way it began to fade while I was traveling. I would def recommend you ask for Lizette! If you're reading reviews, wondering if you should make an appointment here - do it! I can't recommend this place enough, it was a great experience. I'm new to LA and had put off finding a new stylist until my hair was too long to ignore. I finally picked this salon because they were close to home, had an option to book online, and fantastic reviews. Those reviews aren't exaggerating, Mane Fixation is genuinely great. The space is really cute (and not just because there was an adorable/well behaved pup curled up on the couch), laid back and full of friendly faces. I was lucky enough to have an appointment with Lizette, who gave me a cut I absolutely love. I originally asked her for the same simple cut I've gotten for years, but mentioned that I was open to better ideas if she had any. Lizette suggested a couple cuts that would suit my face shape and helped me choose one that somehow managed to be a big change while still completely in my comfort zone. I've had the same woman cutting my hair for the past 7 years, so coming to Mane and trying someone new got me a bit nervous but as soon as I stepped in they were extremely welcoming. The person who cut my hair was Lizette and she was fantastic! I told her what I wanted and she got to work. She was extremely nice and professional and went above and beyond, from taking the time to perfectly trim my beard to even adding beard oil, and this was on top of the hair cut. I was extremely satisfied with my hair cut and will definitely be going back. My girlfriend swears by them as well, so it's a perfect place for men and women. I booked an appt for "unicorn color" with Lizette and she was fab! Soo much fun! She mixed 3 diff colors of pink to create the color I loved. Instead of bleaching my already heavily bleached blonde hair and damaging it further, she suggested painting the pink on top and the result was a bevy of "natural pink" highlights. Amanda aka Panda has been my stylist for the last few months and will be my stylist for the next several decades! She's a color expert and then some! She gave me the most amazing sun-kissed babylights that have been growing out in a way that still looks great months later. Veronica!! You're a complete blessing. She came recommend from one of my best friends. I was a bit nervous because - long story short my mom is a Hairstylest but had knee surgery so clearly out of commission but I was in desperate need of a haircut-Anyways! This salon is one of the most precious hair studios I have visited. The decor, music, and stylist's dogs hanging out make getting my hair done such a pleasant experience. But the real gem is Jessica M.-- I have been seeing her for years, and I will only go to her for all of my hair needs. Had my first hair appointment here a couple weeks ago with Veronica. Loved the experience and end results!I asked Veronica to help transition my hair from being blonde highlighted up to the root to a more natural, blended balayage look, specifically with face framing highlights. Also requested cut that was shorter in back and longer in front.She put a good amount of foils in, and I could see she was staggering highlights up and down the line between my highlight color and natural color. I was excited to see the outcome.At first after getting rinsed, I was a little worried because it didn't look as blonde around face as I wanted. However after she blow dryed and styled my hair (and I got home to get a really good look at it), it was perfect. The blonde highlights were placed so they caught the light, while maintaining a more natural look that showcased my natural color. SoOoo I it was my first time into this awesome lil boutique salon today and it was such a fun relaxing experience start to finish. COURTNEY was superb, listened to me-gave me options-cut with precision honesty took a good amount of time with my cut and styled it so cute. One thing I loved about her as it was my first appointment with her, she took time to ask me what I usually do and like for my hair. THE RESULT was a beautiful cut with perfect texture and my hair feels so healthy. Kristen is amazing.  She is so talented and what I appreciate the most is that she gave me honest feedback on what she thought I needed and then did EXACTLY what I asked.  I got color, highlights and style.  She got the brassiness out of my hair which is awesome.  The cut is perfect. I've been to some of the well known salons but have never been so happy with the style.  I've gotten so many compliments already. She was referred to me by 2 friends. One of my friends' hair in a really cool red color. I'm very skeptical about trying new places when it comes to hair but I decided to give this place a try because of the raving Yelp reviews and all I can say is that I am one lucky gal. I had my appointment with Lizette. I came in thinking I wanted a simple trim but instead Lizette gave me a brief course on  curly hair and what kind of care and products it needs to thrive. I feel very lucky when I meet people who genuinely want to help me and understand what's best fit for me.
