These are some of the best savory pastries I've ever had! Seriously, this is such an incredible shop. What a treasure for Ithaca to have! I've had the Welsh cheddar, the African beef, the mushroom, and the queso poblano. All gluten free. All EXCELLENT. The first day I had one, I went back the next day for more, and again the following week. I may be slightly obsessed. And for GF folk out there, they have great practices -- separate utensils, careful prep spaces, which we Celiac people really appreciate, so thank you, Mama Said! More...

Such tasty food! It’s so fun to get lots of different tastes with each pie, sampling cuisines from Wales to Oaxaca. Personal favorites are the Welsh Cheddar and the Picadillo. This is by far the best food at the farmers market! Some of the most delicious food in Ithaca. The mushroom pies with Oaxacan cheese are to die for. I go to the farmers market every Sunday just for the pies. I would recommend getting there early though because sometimes the tastiest flavors run out. Had these at IC’s Politics Department’s reception last night and, oh my lanta, these hand pies were amazing!!!! I’m not a fan of pie crust (or some types of hand pies, unless they’re empanadas), but I would honestly eat this pie crust straight.
The fillings were just as delicious as the crust, if not more so! My favorites were the poblano and queso pie and a ground beef pie, though the spinach and chicken pot pie were close contenders. The chile caribe sauce served alongside the pies was perfect too: lots of flavor and a gentle amount of spice.
tl;dr: these hand pies are 10/10 and I want to try all of them now!

These hand pies are the main reason I go to the farmers market. As I've posted before, the mushroom and Oaxacan cheese pies are a gastronomic delight. Today I have to recommend the feta and chard pies! They are so tangy and the filling has such a wonderful silky texture. You gotta try it. Im not sure how its possible, but I think their crust is even more buttery, flakey and perfect every time I eat there. Most all of their ingredients are local, and produced in environmentally friendly/ethical ways. You can really taste the quality. If you go to the farmers market and don't try one of their many delicious pie, you are missing out big time! The people who make the pies are lovely people, so make sure to say hi if there isn't a huge line. More...
