Mr. Elias Malikouzakis was recommended by our realtors to handle the sale of our two-family house in Astoria. We had not sold a house before, so at our first meeting, Elias spent an hour explaining details of the entire process. He was friendly and approachable from the first; he treated us like real people and put no walls between us. And he was quite willing to conduct a sale with owners who lived several states away. During the three months between our meeting and the final closing, Elias was responsive at all times, including during a family vacation in July. When we had a problem or question about facts or figures, he was quick to respond with clarifications, by phone and e-mail. He worked straight through several weekends to solve potentially serious problems and to maintain continuity of the process, and was unfailingly polite and cheerful even as we were increasingly worried and fatigued.When we met Elias again at the final closing, he was pleasant and cheerful with us as if we had just seen him the day before. The home buying process was definitely one of the most stressful experiences. But Elias definitely made it much easier and pleasant for me. He did not only care about the legal process, he was also helping me through out the whole process, from communicating with different lenders and insurance broker, to counseling me. He truly cares about my situation, my frustration with the process, and anything beyond his duties as my attorney. Elias represented me in a real estate transaction, the sale of my uncle's home in Queens. To begin, Elias was highly recommended by my real estate agent and others in the brokerage office for his professionalism, attention to detail and excellent communication skills. I was concerned about the transaction because I live in Virginia, my uncle lives in New Jersey and my uncle granted me Power of Attorney (POA) to conduct his affairs. Being unfamiliar with New York real estate transactions, Elias explained the process, what I should expect, his role and the cost. He answered all questions, encouraged me to contact him if I had more questions and kept me up to date as the process progressed. Elias went above and beyond, he reviewed the Power of Attorney document in order to ensure that there would be no surprises at closing. It was determined that the title company required specific language in the POA document to execute the sale. Elias prepared a new POA document and an affidavit well in advance of closing to ensure a smooth closing. The fact that I am in Virginia, my uncle is in New Jersey and the sale was in New York never became an issue. All communication was clear, timely and never discouraged. Elias was my lawyer for the purchase of a coop apartment. He was fantastic and I will absolutely use his services again. Elias was on the ball and very responsive to my inquiries. He was thourough and clearly cared about making sure I was well represented. An example of this was when he was quick to catch an error that my bank made, which would have increased my closing fees by a large sum.
