You have to go here. Â Vista the website: maine-art.com so that you can fully understand the varied options on the Maine Art Hill. Â I visited the main gallery at the top of the hill which featured masterful works by three different female Maine-based artists. Â The curator/gallery attendant(?) was able to provide excellent helpful information about each. Â Also stopped down the hill to visit the pop-up gallery and to visit the artist in residence at the photography gallery. Â There was more to see than I could manage -- I just accidentally happened upon it when dropping in for directions at the visitors center while on my way north......But I will be back at my leisure next time I'm in Kennebunk. Â You should go as soon as you can! More...

One of my priorities on our recent vacation was to visit Maine Art Hill where works by artists with some connection to Maine are featured.  We started by visiting the Grand Hotel where a limited number of high quality  paintings are on display in the brightly lit lobby.  Continuing up the hill, we next visited Shows gallery where the current exhibit featured the works of Margaret Gerding, Julie Houck and Ingun Jorgensen.  Immediately across the road were 6 micro shops/galleries with stopping in Pop-Up.  We learned that each week a different artist's work is featured with that week's artist being photographer Max Pizza.  A few of the other galleries/shops were closed but we spent a little time in both Maine Art Hill Prints and The Works, the latter being a 3-dimensional gallery with some eye catching pottery.  We saved the best to last, the Gallery is a brightly lit, multi-level gallery that included a wide variety of works by over 40 artists that was truly impressive.  Outside we stopped to gaze at the  amazing number of wind sculptures. Lastly, I would be remiss if I failed to mention that every employee encountered at the various galleries was  cordial and informative. More...

Love this studio! We have bought a Craig Mooney, wind sculptures and a really cool sphere made of fused together horseshoes. Whenever we have guests, a trip to the gallery is on our short list of places to visit! More...

Great gallery with friendly, helpful staff. Â It is bright, airy with the art beautifully displayed. Â There is a range of art, something for everyone. Â We found that they represented a Maine sculptor we admired, James Rivington Pyne, as well as a wind sculptor from Utah, Lyman Whitaker. Â There are so many wind sculptures outside the gallery, you can't--and shouldn't--miss it. More...

By far my favorite gallery in this Kennebunk/Kennebunkport area. The artists are varied and each has their own special style that is colorful, witty, introspective or just plain amazing. The shows up on the hill in the cottage are a delight; it's such a well-lit space w/a cozy feeling. The outdoor windmills by Lyman Whitaker are mesmerizing and the perfect attraction to make passersby want to come inside and see what else lies within! More...

A must stop!!! We visit every year to take advantage of seeing works from mostly Maine artists. We did purchase a wind sculpture there for our new place. The staff and gallery owner are top notch and happy to educate you on the pieces you may like. They also have a small cottage out back where they have a display of a specific artist who just might be there as well while you visit.Ever time we go I find numerous pieces I would like  to own. Make sure to add this stop to your Kennybunk visit. More...

I rated them 4 stars because I'm not versed enough in the total Maine art scene or pricing for Maine artists, Â to give an expert opinion. However, this gallery has a wonderful selection of the state's fine art artists in several genres. A knowledgeable staff and friendly atmosphere make shopping here a very pleasant experience. More...

Maine Art is an amazing art gallery located in the Lower Village in Kennebunk, Maine. What a lovely gallery. We were making the most of a highly advertised art walk on a rainy Friday night in Kennebunkport/Kennebunk. Some of the galleries we tried to visit were closed, I assume because of the poor weather and likely low turn out. Not Maine Art Gallery though! We were cold and wet and the gallery owner greeted us at the front door and quickly handed us some drinks, and welcomed us to look around the gallery. The gallery has two floors and many different artists. No one bothered us or "hovered" nearby, we were free to roam the entire gallery and just appreciate the different works. Prices are clearly marked so you don't have to ask about pieces to find out. There were works at many price levels, some in the several hundred dollar range up to over $10k. Most if not all were from Maine artists, with quite a lot of Maine subjects including landscapes and life scenes, with many different mediums. We couldn't see it very well but outside there was a nice collection of wind sculptures. We didn't collect anything that night, but if you are looking to collect in Kennebunkport or just to see some local art I wouldn't miss this stop. More...

What a lovely gallery! Â You'll know you've found the place because the front yard of the gallery is covered in wind sculptures. Â You can't miss them, right on the main street. Â I'm in the middle of working with a landscape architect to fix up my horrible yard right now and I'm very tempted to include one of these cool sculptures! Â The inside of the gallery is part frame shop and part art gallery. Â The host many various artists from around the area, mostly oil paintings, but some other stuff too. Â Definitely worth a look around - whether you buy or not, you will surely find something that catches your eye! More...
