I would highly recommend Kaye/Maile Weddings and Photography! I had never been to Hawaii and my fiance and I decided to do a destination wedding in Kauai. I found Kaye through website searches, and after talking to her I decided to hire her as our wedding planner and photographer. She was very responsive; super helpful in giving us recommendations on places to stay, beach locations since we had never been there, and she found someone to do my hair and make up - which also turned out perfectly! This wedding was so easy to plan, and very stress-free thanks to Kaye. She met us the first day we were in Kauai and showed us some possible beach locations for the wedding day. Jennifer at Mr. Flowers was extremely helpful for helping me plan my wedding flowers from 2,000miles away! She sat on the phone with me for over an hour to help me decide on how I wanted to personalize my bridal haiku and my grooms lei. She was extremely flexible on delivering even around Christmas. Our order was reasonably priced, and everything was arranged beautifully-- they even provided the candles in the centerpieces. I would highly recommend working with them again. Wendy with Mr. Flowers was great to work with and their prices were very reasonable. I cannot tell you how many times I changed my vision for my wedding day flowers. I went back and forth between so many different options and Wendy was so patient throughout the whole process. My wedding florals were very important to me and I only hoped I communicated well enough with Wendy so that she could execute my vision. With planning my wedding from the mainland, I was never able to meet with Wendy in person - mostly through email. She always responded to my emails in a timely manner which was so appreciated. The only hiccup I encountered was when I received a phone call from Wendy 2 weeks from my wedding day to let me know she could not order the main flower I requested for all of my arrangements. Initially I was upset by learning this so close to my wedding date - but then realized it was out of her control. My Husband and I worked with Kay for about 10 months panning a designation wedding and honeymoon in Kauai.  Kaye assisted us in so many ways: giving us tips to make good choices.   Helping me into my dress, driving me to the wedding location so, my husband wouldn't see me first....I could go on and on Kaye made everything run smooth.  I was so relaxed the day of my wedding, no worries at all... Was able to choose and coordinate my personalized bouquet & haku via e-mail from Maryland. Wendy was great with following-up with me and making sure I received exactly what I was asking for. Even though my review is about two years late, I still recall an excellent experience.  So what happened?  Well, on my wedding day, my bride-to-be suddenly had the notion that a plumeria would look great in her hair during the ceremony, and I figured it would be no problem sourcing one.  A few issues of course, it was the weekend, it was getting late, and it was very near the time of the ceremony.  Frantic google searches and stress settled in, but thank god for Mr.Flowers, which also happened to be near Hanalei Bay Resort (our resort for the week and wedding location).  When I called I was greeted with the aloha spirit and a willingness to help out in my time of need.  I immediately jumped into the rental and made my way over to the house at the end of the cul de sac.  With the plumeria in hand and the day saved, a wave of relief crashed over me.If I or anyone, ever has florist needs on the North shore, Mr. Flowers is it.  Thanks again!!! I don't usually write reviews but I feel like I need to give a shout out to Wendy of Mr. Flowers.  We spoke on the phone and I texted her some photos of arrangement ideas to surprise my daughter and her husband for their 1st wedding anniversary being celebrated in Princeville.  She followed up with a phone call to make sure she knew which flowers were most important to me.  Her husband delivered the arrangement the next morning to the hotel before they checked in so it was in their hotel room.  My daughter was blown away how beautiful it was! She took a pic and sent it to me.  It was gorgeous!! My husband and I were recently married on the north shore of Kauai and I was in search of a good local florist. I came across Mr. Flowers and decided to select them based on their positive reviews. I was not disappointed!! Wendy was super responsive to my emails and a pleasure to work with. I sent Wendy a picture of the bouquet that I had in mind and she executed it perfectly!! It was absolutely gorgeous and fresh. She also prepared a boutonnière for my husband that matched very well and which he was pleased with. Coming from the mainland the entire thought of a destination wedding is overwhelming. Kaye was amazing. She really does an amazing job and you can tell that she truly cares about her clients. I ordered the Pikake package and added on hair & makeup. Diane from White Orchid bridal came to do my make up. She uses only Mac products and supplies you with a touch up kit. She listens to what you want and like, I supplied some pictures and she made the entire session about me. Very nice and sociable. We were given a list of beaches to explore for our ceremony, and we're able to easily find one to accommodate our party. When we showed up at the location our officiant and musician were already waiting. When Kaye handed me my bouquet, I hadn't seen nor picked out flowers, I just gave her my colors and asked for some local flower. It was gorgeous!! As we walked up the beach to our spot there was no one there, 5:30/6pm which I recommend on a weekday if you want a more private ceremony. Our officiant and musician were there, and our musician Tommy, played while we walked up. He was perfect, a nice mellow voice. The ceremony was perfect, Hawaiian mixed with traditional. I loved every moment of it. Kaye had the ability to take you dream wedding and turn it into s reality. She is well known on the island, everyone we've met has had nothing but positive words to share. I couldn't have been happier with service I received, and the quality of the flowers we ordered for our wedding. I ordered online a few weeks before the wedding, from 4000 miles away. My wedding planner, Lisa Insalata, recommended Wendy and Mr. Flowers and she was spot on -- they were terrific.   Our wedding was very small but we never felt insignificant.  Wendy was responsive, creative and very accommodating with my flower choices and a special request. I surprised my husband with a personal touch to my bouquet which was a handkerchief that he had carried when his young son was extremely sick many years ago.  It was such an emotional moment when he saw it wrapped around my bouquet as his now healthy 17-year old stood nearby -- it just made his day.Thank you Wendy and Lisa for such a special memory! My now husband and I contacted kaye from San Diego to organize a small beach ceremony while vacationing in kauai. She set up the appointment with the license agent, helped with selecting the location, found our officiate (Rev Glenn was awesome), and even brought our lei. On top of all that, she took amazing pictures of our special day. Working with Kaye to plan my destination wedding on Kauai was a true sanity saver.I started wedding planning about 11 months before my actual wedding date, but I didn't get to actually work with Kaye until 5 months to my wedding day. That's because for 6 months prior to working with Kaye, I was unfortunately working with another wedding planner on Kauai, who I ended up having to fire. The first planner consistently would take a week or more to respond to simple questions (which can be quite stressful when you're planning a wedding from afar) -- but even worse, I found out 6 months in that the first planner did not book crucial items such as the venue and certain vendors, even though she insisted she did.After I realized that I'd have to fire my original wedding planner, I was anxiously searching online for reviews of other wedding planners on Kauai. I decided on two that I wanted to speak to further. Speaking with Kaye on our first call was a breath of fresh air. She was so knowledgeable, and I could tell that she was extremely on top of things. She also got back to me right away when I said I was interested in working with her, something that the first planner didn't do (which should have been a sign to me back then). I ended up hiring Kaye the next day after our call as I knew that I'd be in good hands with her. Not only that, but her wedding coordination fees were also extremely reasonable. After having fired the first planner, and basically feeling like the first 6 months of wedding planning went to waste, being able to work with Kaye was truly refreshing as I was quite stressed out at that point. Kaye immediately took care of things and made sure everything was booked. She has a confident, no-nonsense type of attitude which makes one feel so reassured especially when you're so far away. One of my favorite things about Kaye was how quickly she'd respond to my phone calls and emails. After being accustomed to not hearing back from my first planner for a week or more at a time, seeing Kaye's responses come back to me anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours later was a welcome change. I was extremely fortunate to find Kaye, as she really helped me feel at ease with wedding planning once I started working with her.My only regret is not having worked with Kaye from the very start of my wedding planning -- it would have saved a lot of stress and wasted time! We had a small wedding (just the two of us), but even then there's arrangements that need to be taken care of. When you're trying to make those arrangements from the mainland, handling even small things becomes major. Who needs that stress? Our trip and wedding were last-minute due to our always-changing schedules. With 3 week's notice Kaye was able to arrange for everything we needed for an absolutely perfect day - and that included a fairly last-minute date change on our end due to family matters. From the first point of contact she consistently replied almost immediately and never failed to answer any question we had or handle any request we had, and the only decision we had to make was which type of ceremony we wanted and once we got to the island, which location we liked best from the options she showed us. Flowers, hair, makeup, license appointment, location & permits, officiant, music, photography, videography - the ability to arrange for all of that with a single email from our end was priceless! My husband and I got married on St. Patty's day this year on shipwreck beach. It couldn't of been a more perfect experience. We live in Indiana and I thought I would be stressed out about planning the wedding from so far away without ever visiting with Kaye or going to the location. Kaye was absolutely wonderful! She made the planning so easy and made me feel at ease about everything. I was so calm the day of the wedding. It had a lot to do with the fact Kaye made the planning so easy and I knew I could trust she was going to make the day perfect. We choose Monulele to do our ceremony.
