Highly recommend the wings, they've always been perfect, especially the Honey BBQ. Lots of good beers on tap (although the blue line brewery is atrocious and should be removed). Get Emmet's Ruben egg rolls. That's all. That's the review. Lol JK but they are the best thing in all the world. I work in Poughkeepsie and when my boss says lunch on him, we go to Mahoney's. Burgers, MAC & Cheese and again those egg rolls.. are to die for. Really excellent food for lunch. Honestly haven't been for dinner but wouldn't expect it any less fantastic!! Great, friendly, knowledgeable staff! The waiters are amazing and bust ass. However, I've been there at lunchtime quite often and there are only two servers on. I feel like even if they had one more server it would make a huge difference. But nontheless, i dream about the egg rolls and when my boss is buying next. please. for years the DJ mike is terrible. he's stuck in the last millennia or decade. choose one, doesn't matter he hasn't even entered the laat 3 years unless someone begs him to play something relevent. Please stop hiring him to DJ on weekends. Split the Poughkeepsie Sampler as an app, which honestly could cost 50% more and be an entree for its size, and we had the Jamieson BBQ burger and Jack Daniels Burger for entree. I drove 47 miles north to go to an event for a friend running for re-election as Dutchess County sheriff. I knew what to expect; Irish pub and all that... but it was WONDERFUL. The buffet was great: chicken stew with yellow rice and the best Caesar salad... I don't eat mammals so I can't comment on the sausage or shepherd's pie but everything else was sumptuous. The bartender was a very kind young man and one of the servers was even gracious enough to pack a container of scraps when I told him I had five dogs and hate to see food discarded. I rarely get up to Dutchess County but for anyone in the area this is a great place. It's directly opposite the Metro North Poughkeepsie station so anyone coming from a distance does not need to drive there. I called when I got home but was told the Pinot Noir was a higher priced house wine. The website still showed the $7.50 price. I'd give a lower score, if possible. Ordered a Reuben sandwich yesterday and it was ineatible. The corned beef was thick and dry, like leather. We had to ask for the dressing which is usually on the sandwich as it was missing. I literally took one bite and left the rest. The waitress never asked what, if anything, was wrong with the food. We came for lunch. I had the baby back ribs, served with waffle fries, mini cornbread and corn. Very tasty, the ribs were fall off the bone tender. I've been coming to Mahoney's for about 10 years now. The food, service and atmosphere are always what draws me back. Their menu has many tasty appetizers and entrees to tempt you. All are good and the portions more than enough. I've been here for meals, meetings and for the music . The bar on the lower level is spacious, with tables in the same room as well. Mahoney's is located in the old Vassar Brewery Building. The old beams, brick walls and construction detail add to the ambiance. Emmet, the owner of Mahoney's is a host and gentleman of the finest sort. His staff is friendly, energetic and very helpful. I really enjoy coming here for the Shillelagh Law concert they host here in February every year. It's a lively atmosphere, great music, terrific crowd and a not to be missed event. HORRIBLE horrible!!!! HORRIBLE. Small frozen overcooked burgers like rubber on stale buns. Cold fries. Staff untrained. Appetizers came, no cutlery, side plates or napkins. $200 for 4 burgers and a few beers. no one could eat their meal and we were told there was no manager at the facility. I figured that's why it was so awful. But I called to complain and spoke to him. He was so rude and said I was exaggerating and he kept speaking over me. I went to Mahoney's for a birthday party and it was fun. It was a Wednesday and they had karaoke. I had a margarita and it wasn't good, honestly I am just picky about cocktails and I usually don't like the way most are made in bars. The gin and tonic was good because you can't mess that up.
