How long have you been interested in magic?
I have been interested in the field of magic since the 2nd grade but never pursued it professionally until college.
Take us through your show – what can we expect?
Intro. As the music begins The Spellbinder’s magic wand floats and dances to the rhythm of contemporary music. Spellbinder transforms the flying wand into a pocket silk. The handkerchief comes to life and dances. Suddenly it flies through the air and transforms into a live dove at the finger tips of the illusionist. The Spellbinder performs his ‘signature’ wave and the dove transforms into 2 live doves before the audiences very eyes.
Walter King then shares his story of discovery of the art of illusion and invites audience members to examine materials to be used. An audience member is invited to help create an illusion of art onstage with the illusionist. The participant is awarded with the creation as gift to keep and take with them and allow others to examine.
Walter King Jr. then performs feats of levitation. Floating a table, then a chair, then a human being in mid air. In the final moments of the show, The Spellbinder takes an object from the audience and floats it in mid air. Then right before the audience, Spellbinder draws a large object on paper and transports the object out of the drawing on paper into real life.

What do you love most about your job?
The art of illusion is the ability to create something imagined to be impossible and manifesting it into the 3D world of the possible. To be able to create or make something happen that is thought to be impossible is one of the most rewarding experiences of my job. That, and the astonished looks of wonder and amazement of those experiencing it with me.
What inspired you to start your own business?
The magic of the renowned Master Illusionist David Copperfield was the inspiration to create a magic show, but it was my mother who was the inspiration to starting my own business. Her encouragement and example gave me the courage to work and perfect the business of “show.”.

The Magic of The Spellbinder does offer virtual performances online. Virtual shows are from 40 to 60 minutes. We offer virtual shows for schools, family events or any occasion.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Our team is fully vaccinated and boosted. We follow all safety precautions prescribed by the institution, event specialist or owner/director of the venue we are performing for. We always have masks and sanitizers on board if required or needed.
