Madera has its charm and will always be a great place to me. That said, the current leadership has a disconnect with the employees, managers, CCs and nurses. They are overworked, underpaid and most importantly under appreciated. The care is very good for patients in general, but the staff has a great deal of turnover due to these issues, coupled with the lack of a ladder pay system, 1% pay increases(less than the annual rise in the cost to live) and little opportunity to advance.Pros Family like atmosphere, good employees, flexibility of scheduleCons Upper management disconnect, poor pay, insulting annual increases, retirement plan. When i first started working it was a cold environment and individuals worked alone and for themselves. I was able to turn our shift and area around more team work and family environment and soon everyone wanted to work our shift. I would say in 7 years I worked here was my best work experience of my life. I left cause the raises were at 1% and the new management wanted people with no experience in patient care to care for patience with huge/dangerous issues and I felt unsafe and unsafe for patient. HR at this time was rude and unprofessional was basicly told get with programs do the unsafe stuff or leave so I opted to leave. Coverage is bare minimum always you may get called off if census is low. They will pay for schooling for advancement but you are contracted to work with them.
