We were craving something more than just the snacks at the Brooklyn Brewery so we walked less than a block over to Mable's. We walked in and there were more than enough tables available and seats at the bar. We were instructed to order from the bartender and then wait for our food with our assigned state sign (we got Pennsylvania). You have the option to order a platter which comes with one 1/2 pound choice of meat and two sides. I hate being limited to one meat so I ordered two 1/4 pounds of brisket and pulled chicken. It came out to be a lot cheaper than the platter too. The brisket was good, but could have definitely used some salt. The pulled chicken was drenched in BBQ sauce but still enjoyable. I got to try my friend's Mac and cheese which was definitely creamy like they described it on the menu. They have a decent selection of draft beer and a specialty cocktail list as well. We went during happy hour and were able to enjoy $1 off all our drinks. As we were getting ready to leave, a sizable line began to form at the bar for food orders. The service was pretty good and attentive. We were in and out in under an hour. I'll definitely return if I'm in the area. More...

We went to the Brooklyn Brewery expecting a pizza night but the pizza joint canceled. Â Looking for food we ended up here and were very thankful. Found us some good old BBQ. Started with those Murray's tacos and then into some pulled porK and chicken sandwiches and fixings. A nice find here in Brooklyn. Clean and comfortable atmosphere. Great staff. We will be back. Loved it !!! More...

Pretty darned decent option when those BBQ cravings hit, especially if you happen to be wandering the trendy hipster-ish neighborhood of Williamsburg. Â Situated roughly between the Brooklyn Brewery taproom and the Whiskey Annex along N 11th street, is Mable's. Â Stay sharp, or you'll walk right past it into the Whiskey Annex which is not the worst thing in the world, but it'll save you time, and that hangover, to get it right the first time. The menu is pretty standard with ribs and brisket being front and center. Â There are chicken and pulled pork options, especially when building a sandwich type deal, but I'd recommend sticking with those ribs...which for the want of a better metaphor...will stick to yours. Â Staff are friendly and attentive enough and the ambience is janky, quirky, neighborhood rib joint. The mismatched chairs and the rough wooden trestle table tops are a little deliberate, but you get the message the minute you walk in those doors. Not much in the way of craft beer options given what a Mecca of Craft Brooklyn is turning out to be, which is a bit of a shame, but I'm sure easily fixable. Â Portions are plentiful and the fixin's honest. Â What more could you possibly need to put out those BBQ cravings? Â The only other better option is to hitch a ride south of the Mason-Dixon...but while in Yankee country, just drop your butt down in a stool at Mable's. More...

Pretty awesome choice for some BBQ when in Brooklyn. Service was homey and prompt. Food was decent and portions were abundant. Easy to miss at night, especially in weather, so keep an eye out; it is between the Brooklyn brewery taproom on the corner and the whisky bar on the other corner. More...

The food was great! Bartenders need to step their game up! Don't let them fool you! If theres a chance you think your drink doesn't have any liquor SPEAK UP! Bc there may actually be little to no liqour at all! But other than that service was great. More...

The best food ever. I had the ribs, corn bread, and baked beans both visits and the meal was consistently good. The service was wonderful on a weekday lunch hour, not so great on a weekend dinner (the woman at the counter was quite demeaning and rude, and I'm still not sure why. She refused to put in a dessert order for me and referred to me as "girl, that girl, little girl." Very odd behavior.) Again, the food I got was great. More...

Mables smokehouse blew me away! I went with friends/ family for brunch while in town and it was so good. I opted for the $40 deal where you get one brunch entree and bottomless mimosas, Bloody marys, beer and sangria. I ordered the corn cakes without knowing much about them and they were out of this world!! They were topped with a heaping amount of smoky and delicious pulled pork. The corn cakes themselves had small bits of jalapeño in it. I would 10/10 recommend that dish and will definitely be back for it next month when I'm in Brooklyn. The bloody marys were awesome and so was the sangria. I already can't wait to come back! More...

Really good food, good drinks, and good service. We sat at the bar and had the platter with pulled chicken and sausage with sides of mac& cheese and baked beans. The portions were huge and two of us shared one platter--we still could not finish it all. Would return to try other things since everything we had was great. More...

Favorite barbecue in NYC hides behind a confusing address and ordering system but the pulled pork and the yams make it all worthwhile. Brisket, collards, everything you need in the platter. The friendly bartender keeps you coming back even when you pay $30+ for the plate (maybe that’s why you have to order from the bar?). More...

Nice place, food is good but I was not blown away. I love good BBQ brisket this was tougher and drier than I like. Had the potato salad and mac & cheese were good. The slice of white bread on the plate seemed like they were trying to make statement than anything else. The prices were a little high for the quality. If you're looking for amazing BBQ in NYC keep looking. If you are looking decent BBQ and a nod to hipster Brooklyn, you found your spot. More...

Good food at this Williamsburg BBQ joint. Actual entrance is on N. 11th, not Berry. Customers order food and drinks at counter or bar and staff brings it to your table. Had the brisket and kielbasa combo platter and thought it was cooked well. Bare bones presentation. Tried the candied yams because they were hyped elsewhere. Tasty, but nothing special. Collard greens seasoned with meat as they should be. Would go back. More...
