As a man with shoulder length hair, I am always hesitant to go to a salon. In the past I have gotten some cuts that were not as professional as I would have liked. After doing a bit a research, I came across M. Scott Salon online. Looking at their reviews and testimonials associated with them, I decided to give them a chance. After booking an appointment online, and driving 30 mins in SLC traffic, I found their quaint space. After going in, I immediately knew I made the right decision. Melanie swiftly greeted me by my name, and within a few minutes she asked me about my needs and started her process. The haircut and beard trim were the best I have ever received - no exaggeration. After Scott finished up with his client, he introduced himself and we talked about different things. While visiting Salt Lake City, I booked Melanie online at 1AM the morning before a 12PM appointment. When I arrived, both Melanie and the owner were there to greet me by name and ready to go for my last minute appointment. I had never had much styling experience, so I asked Melanie to walk me through every step, and she taught me exactly how I should style my new cut. I have never made time to write a review, but this salon deserves it 2000%. Where to even start! Every detail was incredible at M. Scott Salon. I had an uncommon request for them and Melanie and Scott were so hopeful and ready to take on the challenge for me. So I had recently gotten married and forgot to pack a brush for afterwards, including the honeymoon. My entire wedding braid updo turned into a matted dread with hair creating spiderweb like knots all over my scalp so there was no way to just cut it out - unless I wanted to be bald. I went to a different shop before and after an hour they advised me to just work it out on my own, but being out of my vision it was very hard. I went to M. Scott Salon and I will never go anywhere else. They were all in and were dedicated to not just helping, but finishing the project. Melanie, thank you for your time and dedication and top of the line skill; you are amazing. Scott, thank you for helping with my hair in between all of your other appointments and even staying very late to get it done. Steve, you walked into our crazy hair situation and helped as well! Steve is my stylist for LIFE now. I have been searching for so many years for a salon that I actually like and feel comfortable in. They have great communication, online booking, stylist who ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!!! It's not a crazy busy, noisy salon. It is a calm environment with some pretty great tunes. I lack the words. When I made my appointment, Scott and I exchanged a few emails, including one of a picture of my hair, which was a very warm gold. I was tired of the same color, but figured since I that's what I kept getting, that's all my hair would do. Scott booked me with Melanie and after being treated like a PRINCESS, and the two of them really listening to what I wanted, I left with a stunning cool dimensional color (and cut) that I absolutely love!! I am 100% satisfied with my haircut and treatment from Scott the owner. He and Steve and extremely friendly, and I honestly had fun while being at the salon! I let my hair grow all summer and I wanted to get a decent back to school cut. I wanted to keep it reasonably long and had no confidence in the chain shop quality I was in the habit of getting. At my wife's urging I decided to up my haircut game which led me to M Scott Salon website. I entered some info and almost immediately recieved an invitation to make an appointment. So I did. I was a little apprehensive as I wasn't sure my hair was worth an upscale treatment. But Melanie made me feel welcome right away and had a plan. The conversation was relaxing and engaging. Scott came in near the end of my appointment and we had a great discussion about life,cars and cities we had been to. I really could have stayed longer, hanging out with my new friends. And my hair? So great. Melanie read my mind. She gave me a couple of styling tips that work and tweaked the top so my head isn't sticking out so far. I can not say enough good things about this salon and the staff here. I had a bad experience at another salon and I was very apprehensive to have someone correct the color, luckily for me I had chosen the right salon. I had a consultation with Scott and decided right away that he had the knowledge and know how to fix my hair. Been going to Lexie for about a year now and love this whole place! Scott and steve are so nice every time even though they arent my stylists. I went to platinum from a poor brunette dye job at another salon. Lexie got my hair exactly how I wanted and my hair is still so healthy! There have been two times my hair was unpredictable and required a color correction and both times she got me in the next day and fixed it for free. I'm sticking with her even though I moved 45 mins away cause shes that good! I had been searching for a creative stylist who was willing to help me out of my long hair in a bun rut when I found Steve at this salon. It's been four weeks since I visited the salon and got my new cut and color. I am happy to say that it looks as good now as it did when I left the salon and I have finally left that bun behind. Whole staff was friendly and accommodating.  This was my first time going the parking was limited that was little frustrating. I met my stylist Alexis she was great we talk about my hair history and look I was going for she gave great suggestions on type colors that would work for me and last longer .
