I only wanted to speak to a couple of designers and I liked the price and ideas.
What’s your interior design process?
In my own home, except for kitchens, I have never had the experience of completely designing a space that is 100% new top to bottom. I start by taking inventory of what I have throughout the house and think about new ways that favorite pieces can be used. I then find color inspiration from art, rugs, mood boards and my many Houzz and Pinterest boards and then decide on a cohesive design from there.
I have moved around the country and lived in many types of homes; adobe style in New Mexico, several different types of homes in Colorado, a Colonial on the east coast and now on the water in Florida. I enjoy the challenge of changing the vibe and design of each home without starting completely new. I also enjoy finding ways to make some short-term, low-budget changes to make the space more "me" until the big budget projects can be tackled.
I kind of obsess over organizing and like to find ways to maximize space and storage. I love customizing closets, craft rooms, playrooms and kids' rooms to make them both fun and functional.
I have done complete kitchen and bathroom remodels that have involved taking it down to the walls and subfloor.
Which interior design styles can you cater for?
I can appreciate most styles of design. That being said, my least favorite to design would probably be ultra-modern, very minimalist, Victorian, Craftsman, French Country and traditional.
The styles that I prefer to work in are: contemporary, modern, mid-century modern, farmhouse, transitional, industrial, coastal, mountain/lodge, southwestern, tropical, maximalist and eclectic.
What do you love most about your job?
I love turning houses into homes. A house full of furniture does not necessarily make it a home.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I've always been obsessed with interior design. I remember playing Barbies as a kid and how the part I loved was designing homes for them. I remember even in my tween years imagining and sketching out floorpans for homes. I regularly rearrange furniture; it is not unusual for my family to come home to a whole new floorpan!
In college I studied Fashion Merchandising and Interior Design. Upon graduation I went to work for a large department store and worked my way up the corporate ladder until I decided to be a stay at home mom. My creative outlet became working on my homes, holiday decorating, party planning, costume design and just about every craft and sewing project out there.
With kids getting older and more self-sufficient I started thinking about what to do next. I always come back to interior design being what I'm most passionate about and have been told over and over that I should start my own business. Well, that time has finally come!

Color Consulting
I'm a Certified Color Consultant and I follow a 6-step color read process that starts with your preferences, assesses your current furnishings and finishes, and puts it all together.
Each Color Consultation begins with a phone interview so that I can hone in on your color preferences, style and color sensitivity.
Next, is the on-site consultation. I come armed with tons of large, color samples that I've narrowed down based on the phone interview and I leave the final paint choices with you, so that you can get used to seeing the color on the walls.
We will walk through the space together and I will be following a set of color rules based on your current furnishings and fixtures to insure that a color perfect home scheme is developed.
Entries, hallways and transitional spaces are included.
E-Design
E-Design is using technology to allow a designer to provide inspiration, expert sourcing and design expertise in a detailed room plan with product links at a fraction of the cost of full service design.
The best part is that this can be done from anywhere that you have a computer!

Airbnb/Short Term Rentals
I've combined my passion for interior design with experiential knowledge of living in short term rentals around the country. I can take your project from inspiration and mood boards to space planning, procurement of furnishings and installation.
Whether this is a vacation home for your family or strictly an investment, I can find that balance between memorable design and the practicalities of outfitting short term rental properties. We have personally used our vacation home for short term rentals in the past and I understand the balance between making it YOUR home while also considering the wear and tear of rental guests.
Through my trade relationships I have many options for furnishings in a variety of price points to keep your project on budget. I have comprehensive inventory lists that are constantly updated and configured for each unique property. Many people are overwhelmed by choosing everything from sofas to towels to spoons but I welcome the challenge!
