Born and raised in KC and was looking for a good BBQ place. This was very good even from my KC standards. I would recommend the burnt ends and the homemade chips. Both I thought were very tasty. Really good burnt ends here, I mean really good! I ordered 2 different types of coleslaw to give a new flavor a try, one was a traditional creamy slaw and the other was pretty much the same but with a touch of horseradish, the creamy was pretty much standard fare and the horseradish was just OK but to each their own. The pickles were good too. The staff was friendly and great and as a bonus the music selection was far different from the typical country jamboree you hear at bbq restaurants and awesome; very much appreciated! More...

Food was great. We got the pulled pork sandwich and the burnt ends sandwich meal with baked beans and fries. It was $21. 35 all together. The lady that took our order was very nice and super helpful. The food came pretty darn quick for a BBQ place even though they were packed. It was a bit pricey though as we got the 1/3 sandwiches and not the 1/2. Excellent bbq pulled pork and burnt ends! Lutz also offers a great catering service. The chips are always a hit. Mac n cheese is terrific as well as their salads. Staff are always friendly.

My company was hired to assist a couple with coordinating their wedding day last weekend, and I had the most pleasant experience working with the team from Lutz's. The communication leading up to the wedding was top notch; Kala was incredibly upbeat and helpful. It made both me and the bride feel incredibly confident that the end product would be stellar. On the day of the wedding, the Lutz's team was welcoming, helpful, and flexible. I thoroughly enjoyed their energy, and it was great to have them enhance the guest experience. Lutz BBQ catered our wedding and it was AWESOME!!! We got married on Cinco De Mayo 2018...so we had to have tacos... I didn't want traditional tacos, so Lutz's worked with me to personalize the menu. They provided handmade tortilla chips and queso for an appetizer. We had bbq pulled pork tacos with coleslaw (all provided by Lutz Bbq). We had pulled chicken which we paired with a pineapple slaw, roasted corn and avocado ranch (the chicken provided by Lutz's, my brother-in-law made the rest). And last but not least, we had fried fish provided by Lutz's and paired it with a mango salsa and chipotle mayo also made by my brother-in-law. We added Lutz's salad, mac n' cheese and coleslaw as sides. We were just at a wedding last weekend (1.5 years later) and our entire table was talking about how it was the best wedding food they have ever had! This wasn't the first time we've heard people say that! They are easy to work with, it tastes delicious, it's cooked on site and very reasonable. We used Lutz’s in Columbia to cater our wedding. Our menu consisted of pulled pork, pulled chicken, baked beans, green beans, cheesy potatoes, pickles, rolls, and bbq sauce. We did not have them provide drinks and it was almost $12/person and had plenty of leftovers. They arrived on time and set up quickly. The food was delicious and we received many compliments.
