Luna Crescent Consulting, LLC is an eight-crescent process helping girls, women, men couples, and businesses with coaching and consulting advice as they navigate their personal lives and career ambitions. Inspired by the eight phases of the moon, Luna Crescent strives to eclipse clients from developing their identity to establishing their brand.
CORALIE HOOK, the founder, is a social worker, teacher, director, and licensed beautician, who dedicated twenty years to developing productive student-focused environments to maximize learning experiences. An enthusiastic Dance School Administrator, Hook has been dedicated to teaching the world of dance for 17 years and launched her art program in 2009. Dedicated and resourceful, Hook’s professional experience displays her ability to create and monitor policies and practices that promote safe and comfortable learning environments for all students. Ensuring a school culture that encourages continuous improvements for teachers and students, Hook develops a space that encourages open communication with colleagues, students, and the overall community. Hook mentors educators in the creation and implementation of class instruction, lesson plans, and student assessment in conjunction with state learning regulations, detailed educational knowledge, and core skills.
Hook holds an AA in Liberal Arts, a BS in Social Work (Early Childhood Education minor), and an MS in Education. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership & Management.
Eight Stages
NEW MOON
In this beginning stage, the new moon will establish trust, expectations, and communication. As you engage in the coaching experience, you will get the chance to share their goals, what they want to get out of this program and why they decided to sign up (or showed interest) for Lunar Crescent Consulting. This will be conducted, at your pace, in a private meeting between you and Lunar Crescent Consulting. As a new moon represents the beginning of a new lunar cycle, people reflect on what they want for themselves in the future, acknowledge the mistakes and triumphs they made in their past, and how to perceive a new version of themselves.
We will explain what this program is in detail and break down the steps taken to develop leadership skills and self-confidence. This step in the process allows us to gauge how we can best assess which resource(s) will best cater to you in the most comfortable fashion. In this space, we will record all dreams and ambitions you feel comfortable sharing so we can return to this towards the culmination of the phases. As the gravitational force is at its peak during the new Moon phase, the anxiety may be too. However, with three core values, trust, setting communication, and setting expectations, Lunar Crescent reassures that you are in a comfortable space filled with growth and positivity.
WAXING CRESCENT
This is the first stage where the crescent will increase, yet you are still in your own shadow. The waxing crescent moves towards fulfillment and faith, yet there’s much visible acknowledgment of insecurity and hesitation. In this phase, you will be exposed to opportunity and change, charging energy to set new goals and purposes. For light to emit through, you must first recognize what’s casting a shadow on your ambitions and personal growth.
In this phase, you will identify your strengths and weaknesses. By completing this, you will learn more about yourself internally and provide guidance around your interests and how you wish to accomplish your goals. Recording this will boost productivity and clarity, allowing you to turn your weaknesses into strengths and improve the strengths you already possess. This works effectively with leadership and development in any industry, allowing you to excel in management roles and teamwork responsibilities. This assessment can be completed alone or in consultation yet will provide a framework for building better character and relationships with peers and colleagues. Hence, we set up ways to see how you can develop confidence and be more assertive in uncomfortable spaces.
You will have free space to discuss specific moments where they felt cast in their own shadow and evaluate how they could have approached the situation differently. At your discretion, sharing this will allow you to reflect on different memories and instances that shape the individual you are. By casting light on moments of weakness, more light will allow you to make a concrete plan for success.
You will also go through exercises and techniques to improve relationships with others and how to effectively be better leaders. Exercise and drills in sports or performative experiences simulate actual situations that you may endure, so by testing these abilities (with recognition of your strengths and weaknesses), you can learn how to be a leader in controlled circumstances.
FIRST QUARTER
In the first quarter phase, you will set a goal and visualize a progressive future. The first quarter phase represents creativity and confidence. This will help you be more realistic and congregate core values with dream fulfillment. This will be executed through goal listing, the AAA diary, and external resources focused on goal orientation and preparing for future conflicts. In this stage, you will think about what you want to accomplish and set up estimated dates and times for when you plan on getting it accomplished. Yet, some goals can be fulfilled without a timed structure. Understanding this will allow you to have patience and respect for your timing and growth.
Here, you will start an accountability affirmation and ambition (AAA) diary. In this chapter, you will record in a book or a diary what goals you have, in what ways you want to accomplish these goals, and how you plan to accomplish these goals. Accountability teaches them the value of their work, boosts proactive mentality, and increases confidence; affirmations help protest negative opinions; ambitions exhibit healthy self-esteem and provide ideations of a positive future. The AAA diary can refer to any large or small moment of leadership and will be reviewed after each meeting.
We will also provide resources on goal orientation and goal setting (books, videos, etc.) Lunar Crescent Consulting will refer you to external modes of education to see how other individuals found their development in leadership and self-confidence. These testimonies help with empathy and grasping communication techniques.
WAXING GIBBOUS
You’re halfway there! Congrats! In this time, we will discuss the obstacles and challenges you have faced in your life. As the moon strives to be full, you should aim to complete projects. Where have you felt stuck? This is a perfect time to break free of any inhibitions as change continues to occur between each phase. You should be mindful of what’s working now and what obstacles might impede change.
More than half the moon is illuminated, which means you are moving in a progressive light. As you move towards labor and taking control, you are encouraged to take your goals, dreams, and leadership execution more seriously. Offering perspective, the waxing gibbous phase allows you to manifest intention and action on desires and a positive future. All the projects, goals, and ambitions you wrote down in previous stages will now be in the process of completion. However, don’t anticipate this to happen instantly as the waxing gibbous stage works overtime.
FULL MOON
Looking at yourself full circle! In this stage- look at yourself from a livelier perspective and in full transformation. Full moons in myths and fiction represent disaster and chaos, but for Lunar Crescent, the full moon accentuates the inner instincts to their fullest potential. As the earth is located between the sun and the moon, you are navigating through your sense of self and parts of your identity that you repress or keep private. This is where you consolidate these internal versions of yourself and move forward in positive self-appreciation.
First, you must check up on the status of your goals and ambitions and see what has been successful struggling, or stationery. As we work towards transformation and self-actualization, listing out updates of commitments holds you accountable for the success of your goals and makes modifications to your goal achievements if needed. Measuring this progress continuously renders more productivity and more active participation in developing identity in professional spaces. All goals must be focused on a result, concrete, realistic, and finalized with a deadline. This intentionality reflects positive mindsets and taking control of your past, present, and future.
List ways you can celebrate yourself for your progress and find methods to improve any areas that the client wants to improve. Every move towards success should always be recognized, contributing to your confidence and self-actualization. In this space, you will recognize how you maneuver in high-stress environments and professional challenges, thus discovering the leader you are. Assessing these spaces can advance your leadership skills, increasing your own success and the success of those you are managing.
We will also start discussing the type of leader they want to be and introduce the types of leaders (give paper and definitions. In this stage, we will distribute a diagnostic listing of the type of leaders and identify which leadership skills you exhibit. As we prepare to power our leadership skills, we need to be transparent about our strengths and weaknesses. Your leadership style will inform how you communicate with different personalities and find the appropriate method(s) to ensure the organization you are managing.
WANING GIBBOUS
Waning Gibbous narrows the light within the moon, similar to how you should narrow down the type(s) of leader you are. As the light starts to slowly decrease in this phase, it’s time to focus on effective communication with fellow colleagues and responsibly dissipate negative habits and self-deprecation. By understanding how you feel about yourself, you affect how you interact in spaces. We will inform you about the type of leader you can be and how one can exhibit multiple styles depending on the circumstance and the community you are leading.

-TRANSACTIONAL LEADERSHIP: leaders who use rewards and punishment to influence employees or workers.
TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP: leaders invoke change in structure and individuals to develop colleagues into leaders as well.
-SERVANT LEADERSHIP: leader’s main goal is serving their people, using listening and empathy to connect with those right below them.
-DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP: leaders allow members of a group with no title to be more active in decision making.
-AUTOCRATIC LEADERSHIP: leaders who have full control over all decisions made in the group and rarely (almost never) accept counseling from others.
-BUREAUCRATIC LEADERSHIP: this type of leader is adamant about processes, rules, and structures as a method of invoking power.
-LAISSEZ-FAIRE LEADERSHIP: leaders who are hands-off with their management and only assign tasks to their team colleagues and members.
-CHARISMATIC LEADERSHIP: leaders who rely on communication and rhetoric to influence colleagues to move forward.
After distributing the diagnostic and its results, you will then learn how to alter your leadership style whenever necessary. This might include simulations or hypothetical situations where you will exercise leadership adaptation and fully comprehend why it is important to distinguish leadership styles for distinguished circumstances. By doing this, you are coming to terms with yourself and fully accepting the different versions you can exhibit in managerial positions.
THIRD QUARTER
The third quarter moon phase is focused on completing your journey and establishing your brand. In this stage of “reflection”, you are sustaining your ambitions and active participation in your future. As you have already established these moments of strength and elevation, you need to find ways to harvest these attributes so they can continue over time and work towards developing a consistent brand (though this can be updated or modified by positive change). To do this, you need to cleanse, release, and let go.
Here, you will do exercises like creating a vision board about who you are now and discussing yourself as if you are a brand. This is to assess who you are emotionally, physically, spiritually, mentally, and socially. Brand development starts with understanding the many facets you display, reflecting on how you want to be perceived, communicating your identity, and being consistent with how you want to be presented to the masses. By establishing your identity and your confidence, you stand out to others and make an impact that cultivates with the brand.
This self-credence can help you explore what your niche is without a comparative lens
and affirm the person you are. Through writing and speaking into manifestation, you are relaxing any tensions and anxieties and releasing your thoughts into new intentions and goals. As you find a consistent style of identity and nurture different leadership methods, you can focus on how to approach situations you never experienced before and allow creativity to handle new goals and purposes.
WANING CRESCENT
As the moon phases close its lunar cycle, the sun projects less light on the moon. You have identified strengths and weaknesses, set diaries of affirmations, held yourself accountable, and learned different types of leadership styles. Here, you reflect on your consulting experiences and review how effective the coach was in dealing with the client. As you endeavor in this new chapter, reflect on how this development has helped or hindered your growth.
There will be 3 months, 6 months, and 1-year check-ins since the culmination of the coaching. Lunar Crescent Consulting is interested in seeing how this relationship works outside of the coaching experience and ensuring that you use these skills in different situations. We will also help with interview assistance, resume building, and developing strong transferable skills that will procure a new chapter for you as a leader.
