Luisa's is a solid restaurant in an area with not too many options. The service was good, they were attentive and friendly. I had the enchiladas and they were delicious. Comes with a side of rice & beans. They also have freshly made tortillas by the entrance that are warm and delicious. Overall the quality of food was good, but nothing you wouldn't get at any Mexican restaurant. If you're looking for good food and a good ambiance, Luisa's is the way to go. I look forward to coming back here & trying their margaritas! More...

A fun and kitschy Mexican restaurant. While I waited for my table I wondered at the indoor fountain and was offered a fresh made tortilla to snack on. Already I was won over and I hadn't even been seated yet. The food and drink options are all pretty standard and classic for this type of place, but it was clear to me that a level of quality and freshness is paid to the food here more so than others like this that I had been to before. Our server was a fun gentleman, he made jokes and engaged us in polite conversation without over staying his welcome. I gauged by the clientele that this is a local favorite and I imagine anyone living in this neighborhood finds themselves here once a week or so. Over all it was a pleasant experience and the food was decent and pretty low price for the large portions. More...

We love Luisa's!  Been coming here for many years.  The food is always consistently delicious, the service is fast & friendly.  (Almost TOO fast, LOL! If you want to linger over chips & salsa or any apps, let them know or wait to order your entrees.)The chimichangas... oh my... .  The regular entree has 2 & they're good sized, so I ask them to box up one with toppings on the side (ie lunch the next day); they're always happy to do it & take extra care to put each topping, like sour cream or green onions, in separate little containers. What their "coleslaw" may lack is more than made up for in their margaritas!  Yum!It's a very family friendly place, so avoid the early dinner hours if you prefer a little more quiet.  On the other hand, plenty of tables for bigger parties- with or without kids.-They have a good sized parking lot btw.Want great Mexican? Head to Luisa'sNOTE:  Yelp is currently listening old hours for this place.  We checked before heading there tonight; Yelp stated they would be open til 10 but when we arrived around 8:30, it was closed.  I've added photos of the new hours.  -April 2019. We have been satisfied patrons of Luisa's for over 7 years, mostly for late afternoon lunches.  The decor feels authentic, the wait staff always pleasant and the food always flavorful and plentiful.  The chile rellenos are delicious, with a mild heat, and the enchiladas verde with pork are excellent.  There is nearly always sufficient left over for another lunch at home.  In all the times we've eaten there, perhaps 30-40 in 7+ years, we have never really been disappointed.  A consistency that we find remarkable. Fellow at next table order a similar platter. When I saw it, I changed my plan. No taco or tamale. Asked to have mole on the enchilada rather than red sauce. No problem. I'm always looking for places to dine with a coupon and this one is in the entertainment book so I end up here a lot. Also I really love the vegetarian gorditas as this is something that is not on most menus in the area. I enjoy a place where they give you a freshly made warm tortilla with salsa even before you are seated, it definitely adds something to the experience. The fountain in the waiting area is nice too. I also enjoy a place that has something besides the normal red salsa to serve with chips and here they have a delicious green one. Service here is fast. Multiple refills on chips and drinks. Everyone always seems happy with what they ordered. My friend recently enjoyed the grilled chicken salad. I did not enjoy my burrito loco as much as the gorditas, but wanted to try something different. I'm writing this review as a native Texan new to Seattle, and a self-proclaimed Tex-Mex aficionado. If this place was back home in Texas, I'd give it 4 stars because it's just missing a few details I'm normally used to. However, since this is located outside of Texas, I will give it 5 stars because it is the only place I've ever eaten Mexican food outside of Texas or Mexico that tasted good. Normally anything north of Texas is just tasteless mush, but this place was full of flavor and had a kick to it! I've had more disappointing experiences trying Mexican food up north than I can count so I'm super excited to have found a place that tastes as good as home. This may very well be the only place in Seattle that serves chile con queso, which earns them huge bonus points! Only thing I would change is to have ground beef in it instead of chorizo.Menu has lots of options, restaurant is clean, and service was good. Do yourself a favor and don't try Mexican food anywhere else in Seattle but here! More...

They are delightful. Is it hip-delishious?  No. Good?  Absolutely.  They still prepare fresh, hot tortillas at the door and you can nibble on that with butter or salsa or both before you're seated.  The customary basket of chips with both green and red salsa arrived within seconds of sitting down. The menu is fairly extensive if traditional American-Mexican food.  The service was excellent by a young man who was rather easy on the eyes (bonus). Our food was fresh, hot, and delicious. Looked back in the kitchen area because I'm picky and snoopy; it was immaculate.
