Great fusion food! Most food was either Latin American or Asian, not as much true fusion dishes as expected. However, everything tasted great

I order the Pozole Soup because I was sick. It was delicious and made me feel so much better. Now I have to find this soup where I live or learn to make it.

The food and ambiance was awesome! I went with my fiancé and our friends. Our friends ordered drinks and let us try them, and they were both great! The pineapple margarita was served in a super cute pineapple shaped mason jar thing. In terms of food, I had the salmon dish and my fiancé had the pollo saltado. Our friends had the general tsos and the kimchi pork belly fried rice, which i also sampled and were also great!!! My salmon was served with a butternut squash mash and it was really food with an interesting kick. The only thing i wasn't impressed with was the asparagus as it seemed undercooked so was not really edible. Also, our server was really excellent about giving us menu suggestions, but after our food was delivered he did a somewhat poor job on follow up. It took us close to 20 minutes to get our checks and get cashed out after we had been done eating, which was a little bit of a bummer because we had tickets to an event. Also, the floor was oddly sticky. Overall, i will definitely return and am looking forward to trying some more of their dishes! More...

The food was great and the place was super cute! I was a little worried because no one else was there when we got there , but we got there around 6ish. I had the pineapple jalapeño margarita and my significant other had a Lucha Mojito. They were delicious and super cute. Our waiter had wonderful suggestions. I had the kimchi pork belly fried rice and my significant other had general tsos. Both were delicious and had huge portions. Only complaint is our waiter became a little less attentive and it took about 15 minutes to get our check. Def would recommend! More...

Another local place that I somehow have missed. We were there about 4:30 on a Saturday and sat at the bar. They have a good selection of drinks and I am sure their margaritas are delicious but I'm unwilling to pay $12 to see. I ordered the $3 Tecate which was super cold and always tasty. We ordered a ton of food and all of it was delicious. The prices were good, and our bill was only $50 for a lot of food and three drinks.Even though we sat at the bar, the bartender didn't serve us, which is odd. The bartender seemed exceptionally grumpy and acted annoyed every time a drink order came through the bar register. She was busy doing prep work as it was the end of her shift, so I am sure she was ready to get out of there, but it was unwelcoming nonetheless. Claire greeted and served us and she was very personable, attentive, and pleasant. More...

The fact that they even try to pull off Japanese mixed with Mexican deserves attention. They deserve applause because it's done so freaking well. Seriously the best prepared tofu I've ever had. I love their veggie selections and always eat there when I'm in the area. Great for vegetarians! Another GOLD STAR for their eco-consciousness take out containers and lack of plastic straws! More...

I can’t begin to describe how awesome our waitress was. I am on paleo diet and the only thing that sort of matches the description with protein was the salmon poke. First our waitress checked to see if seaweed salad contains salt or sugar, then she suggested substitution. After the order was made, she made sure the sauce was not mixed with food (because the sauce was not paleo compliment). Unfortunately, the cook mixed the sauce, so they had to fix it. Our waitress communicated the issue with us quickly and clearly, she also apologized (even thought it was totally NOT her fault nor obligation). I think being there with this kind of customer service, it really didn’t matter how the food tasted, I was emotional touched by the experience, how she cared so much about her customers. More...

I ordered their pho and kimchi fried rice for dinner. They have nice flavors but a bit too salty. The rice noodles got stuck together during the delivery. I really love the porks in the fried rice! A bit overpriced for what you get. But overall, I enjoyed the food. More...

This is going to be the easiest yelp review I have to write. One of my favorite places I have ever eaten at. I started coming here since August and I have already been here over 10 times/ uber eats at least 5 times. Khoa is hands down the best manager I've ever got to deal with. There are no flaws with Lucha Tigre. I am thrilled to be a loyal customer for four more years down here. More...

I am so glad that I tried Lucha Tigre. The wait staff was great and the chef was accommodating since we ordered something that's usually served only at particular times. Not only was the food hot, fresh, and filling, but the outdoor seating was comfortable. We ended up just hanging out talking for awhile after we finished our meal. More...

Super cute place. I'm a sucker for Asian Mexican fusion and wasn't expecting to find a spot in chapel hill. Mixed crowd not too busy. Wait staff slow but kitchen super fast. Ordered spicy garlic green beans and tacos - Curry squash - exceptional, bulgogi - pretty good (i prefer my bulgogi in larger pieces of meat like pulled pork or shredded beef but kimchi on top was nice touch , juarillo chicken - good. The wait (for a table for 5) was not TOO long, but well worth it!... starters were twice fried ckn wings (had to order another). .. fried , cut corn and a salsa sampler with a mix of torilla &won ton chips... Two seared salmon platters, two spicy ckn and lo mein, and one seafood medley over (wasabi) mashed potatoes... EVERYTHING was delicious❣... The Dark and Stormy cocktail was tasty and refreshing... The drink menu was simple, but VERY interesting and desirable for my palate... I would return, if my stay was longer... Highly recommend More...

Asian-Mexican cuisine seems a little weird but honestly it’s a match-made in heaven. This is one of my favorite Chapel Hill spots. Great food and great service. And they always have this weird Asian fantasy show playing at the bar. I’ve never been able to grasp what it’s about but it’s entertaining to watch when the conversation lulls. Drinks are pricey though. More...

I love Lucha Tigre!! Their food is super unique and tastes great. My go to dish is the pad Thai al pastor, and it's the perfect blend of Asian and Mexican in bowl. They have a great patio as well and a good bar, so it's the perfect spot for a nice evening when the weather is good. It's great for dates as well and you can easily walk over to the Bolin Creek trail for a nice little stroll. More...

Went here for a late dinner, so there was not a lot of people in the restaurant which made service pretty quick. We got a bunch of apps to share and the pastor pad Thai. The bugulgi nachos was HUGE. That alone could have fed my friend and I. The meat was pretty good, and there was also kimchi in there which was a nice contrast. The other shrimp spring roll is just alright, and for $6 go to an actual Vietnamese restaurant and get it there for half the price. The shrimp ceviche was very delicious, tasted very fresh with the avocado. The pork bun was too fatty and tough for my taste so I would probably skip that too. At this point we were too full for the pad Thai, so we had to pack it home. However, I did have one bite and it was definitely not your typical pad Thai! It had a great flavor. Definitely one to try. We wanted to try something different for lunch today, and this was a good choice. They have a separate lunch menu, which includes a combo: two tacos or two empanadas, one side and a fountain drink for $10. This was a good deal, and almost too much for lunch for me. Red curried chicken in an empanada and red curried butternut squash tacos were great fusion choices. We also liked the chicken guajillo taco and the queso and mushroom empanada. My tacos were so stuffed that I couldn't pick them up without making a huge mess, so I had to use a knife and fork. Although the small dining room was less than half full and there were three people waiting tables, we rarely saw our server. He almost forgot to bring us our drinks and only came around to give us our check. On the plus side, they don't give out plastic straws, and the plates, glasses and silverware were high quality. Finally, this place wasn't easy to find! My suggestion: The minute you see Hunam Chinese, turn in to the parking lot. Lucha Tigre is in the strip of shops behind Hunam Chinese, at the far end. It's worth the hunt! More...
