I worked with Luca HQ over several months last year getting my AL business set up, and they couldn't be more helpful.As a marketer, I'm terrible at finance and accounting, but the team at LUCA - Trey, Patrick, and the rest of the team - were super helpful and very fast to respond to my email when in dire straits. For those not in the accounting world, what I've learned is that there's a big difference between going with a CPA who only does your taxes once a year vs a full-service firm like LUCA. The big difference here is that LUCA keeps you humming throughout the year month in and month out. The most painful part about business setup, especially in a new state, is state business compliance. What inspired you to start your own business?
Our founder and CEO began two small businesses to put himself through college. After college, he joined a large CPA practice full-time and eventually realized the need to sell his businesses. He still realizes the day he sold those companies as the hardest day of his life.
In the years that followed, he cultivated his passion for small businesses and worked with small business owners on a part-time basis to help alleviate financial stress. In 2016, he decided to make it his full-time focus and has grown a team since then that shares his passion for helping local and small businesses thrive.

Better Bookkeeping
Bank Account / Credit Card Management:
Ensure a secure connection from your bank account(s) into your accounting system.
Capture and categorize transactions.
Reconciliation of account(s) up to 100 transactions per month.
Maintain data feeds into your accounting system.

Record payroll entries within client accounting system.
If selected by client:
Run scheduled payrolls within client’s payroll system of choice.
Add/terminate employees, as directed by client.
Modify employee payroll amounts, withholdings, and deductions, as directed by client.

Accounts Payable (AP)
Create a secure environment for approved bills to be efficiently processed.
Enter bills into the accounting system with appropriate account coding.
Pay approved client bills and properly categorize all expense payments.
Accounts Receivable (AR)
Prepare and distribute invoices.
Prepare statements for customers with an outstanding balance.
Provide a regular A/R Aging report for management.
Insurance
LUCA will assist with worker’s compensation and/or general liability insurance audits.
Business License Management
Prepare and file relevant county and city business licenses in a timely manner.
CFO Consulting
One-time or recurring top-level accounting & finance services are provided on either weekly or monthly basis. Examples of CFO Services include financial & scenario modeling, capital planning, performance analysis & benchmarking, and risk management. One-time projects are also available, based upon your needs or requests.
Corporate Income Tax
LUCA will prepare your federal and state corporate income tax returns and any extensions, as needed.
Historical Clean Up
For financials to be accurate, bank and credit card account balances in your accounting system must be reconciled to 3rd party statements on a monthly basis. The causes of unreconciled accounts vary; therefore, LUCA has a few different approaches to correcting when these accounts are unreconciled. Once you have become a client, LUCA will work with you directly to collaborate on the best historic clean up method for your business.
Individual Income Tax
LUCA will prepare your federal and state individual income tax returns and any extensions, as needed.

Consultation regarding your business structure.
Determination of estimated tax requirements.
Sales tax account review.
Accounting system evaluation and recommendation.
Onboarding and Implementation
(For recurring Bookkeeping engagements only)
All accounting clients receive onboarding services which include a dedicated Onboarding Manager and Customer Success Team to perform the following activities and ensure we have all of the information we need on the front end:
Perform review of your existing accounting setup and practices and provide recommendations for accounting function improvement.
Securely establishing login credentials to accounting and financial systems.
Finalize determination of Historic Account Reconciliation (see separate Service Item, not included).
Assign and introduce you to your monthly accounting team.
Sales Tax Manager
Prepare and file your monthly sales tax returns (in each relevant state).
Strategic Financial Reporting
Strategic Financial Reporting includes forecasting, budgets, and strategic planning, updated and delivered in your financial statement package on a monthly basis.
Includes 1 hour per month remote planning session.
Xero Setup and Training Session
LUCA will work with you on a one hour schedule call or meeting to discuss your accounting system setup, answer questions, and make sure you are moving in the right direction.
Includes 1 hour remote/in person session.
