We really enjoyed this place. We went based on a recommendation from a friend and it was excellent. All courses were excellent. The service was great, bar area was busy but we sat down with no issue before our table was ready. They gave us a free desert, espressos, and took a picture of us for my wife's birthday. Having been to Luca West on several occasions we decided to venture to the original location downtown Cleveland. We were not disappointed. Each of the group of four ordered one of the evening specials. Each was presented as you would expect and as we sampled each other’s came to the conclusion that no matter which we individually ordered they were all excellent. The wine list is very good and we settled on a Italian, in the 60/70 dollar price range, which complemented the meals well. We went for our honeymoon dinner. The staff was incredible and even took our picture and print a copy for us to keep. Everything we ordered was delicious. I definitely reccomend the panna cotta and tiramisu for dessert. We will definitely be back for both the amazing food and service. More...

The spinach pancetta and mushroom salad with a tasty pancetta dressing was nicely presented in less than 5 min. They should remove strawberries off of the salad description because I had a half of a strawberry cut into 2 slivers. We ordered the ahi tuna appetizer. I was so excited, yet disappointed . It was sheer piece of tuna and I could see through it. When we went to eat it it tore like paper. Don’t get me wrong it was delicious but come on. I told the server and she said some fancy word for it being so thin. Then the people next to us ordered the same thing and it was a 1/2 inch thick and it was pink. Our was white. I know how expensive tuna is but this was not worth the price, skimpy and thin. My dinner was had a sweet sauce to it. It was bucatini and shrimp and scallops. Server said red peppers. Well it had green peppers. I did not complain but took them off in a pile. We were late due to our ride being late. However, our table was still available at 7:30 for our 7:00 reservation. Sat on their patio which was less noisy. Our waitress was excellent, food excellent. I did mention it was my friend’s birthday. They came and took our picture and before we left they brought it in a folder. It was so nice and a great surprise. In New Orleans, many of our best restaurants are located in the neighborhoods outside of the French Quarter and are family owned and operated. So, whenever I am in a new town, I look for similarly situated Italian restaurants. Luca fits that bill perfectly. The menu was just as expected (two different osso buco entrees!!) . I had the mussels to start and the wild boar osso buco. Both were excellent. The location is a bit out of the way from the downtown hotels (short Uber ride required) but I would recommend Luca for anyone looking for a good Italian restaurant when in Cleveland on business. I just want to comment about our table. Our table was located by the window where a crate of wine was stored. We were interrupted twice in order for staff to retrieve wine. Otherwise everything was great.
