What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
You take the photograph, don't let the photograph take you. This is what I keep telling myself. I can certainly let my camera do all the work; set it to automatic, point, shoot. But I like to assess the situation, analyze lighting settings, and take a more contemplative approach to capturing my subjects.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What are your expectations, what do you NOT want to come from this interaction, and what would be the cherry on top for you. I like to devote my time to bringing top tier service to my clients and definitely want to know any tidbits that I could do to go above and beyond to provide that to you.
What do you love most about your job?
I love the ability to connect with so many different people, having conversations and listening to what their expectations are for the job, and getting to know how best to provide services to clients. I love that I get to do this all on my own behalf without having to adhere to the guidelines of someone else's business. Having that amount of autonomy allows me to better serve my community and clients.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I enjoy getting to know my clients and their expectations personally. I feel that working for myself, I am better able to bring the level of service required without the hinderance or lack of autonomy that comes with contracting through someone else's business.

I can provide files of photos either directly in hand (via usb drive) or online (dropbox). We never have to meet if schedules don't align, although I prefer to speak with new clients face to face to understand their expectations and the full scope of the job.
